I said I’d be happy if we made a bowl and got a high top 15 class. Well we made a bowl and are sitting at 8th on 247, and 7th on Rivals and On3. So yea I’m pretty damn happy about year one so far.

We have staff dedicated to scouting portal. Thats not an issue. Heck they found an entire OL last year without breaking the bank.
To your point Rocky Mtn, I think all the coaches will agree to change this. Heck some of the HS guys want to see what is in the portal and vice versa, as well as who is staying, (at their target school) its very difficult. LJ is probably a good example, he wants to go to Florida and suddenly the the defensive starters are leaving and the defensive recruiting class is flipping. And he probably does not want to be quadruple teamed every play, but is now realizing it.
And right again, Hugh wants to at least press the flesh, but now realizes some of these guys will sign sight unseen. Course the one we signed sight unseen in Travis, showed up the final day and fat. But I think if he had it to do again he would have offered the NIL upfront to Carmona and the kid from Toledo and trusted his coaches and scouts more.

Yeah I know they have guys dedicated to the portal but he is learning that they need to close the deal quicker. He was hoping you could schedule something in a few weeks to get a visit and these guys are closing deals on their first visit or no visit. lol

From what others said he has delayed his signing. Kid is torn right now. AA7 said he had signed the UF NLI but did not send it in.

If he was waiting to see how UF’s class fared today then I think he got his answer.
