I watched him in person when he came to play in Montgomery for a bowl game while with Arkansas State. How the mighty had fallen.

Update from UF’s site on 3* OT Edwin Favour
quote:
– Later today, offensive line coaches Rob Sale and Darnell Stapleton are meeting with offensive tackle Favour Edwin. That will be the final meeting between both parties.
Alabama, Florida and Auburn are the finalists for Edwin. The Tigers, however, are trending heavily ahead of a commitment that could be any day now.

All of our insiders are considering him a lean to Bama if I have read things right?

I heard he was a lean to Bama also, but in my opinion he's truly torn or just waiting on the right deal. I know he's a 3* but the interest from so many high level programs tells me all I need to know about his talent

I am not trying to troll here, but why is there so much interest over this 3* recruit? Is his ceiling really high and he is just very raw now?

He has elite frame and measurables, so won't contribute immediately but some think he will be NFL level before he leaves. I honestly can't get excited about him because he is the exact type of high school prospect that the portal renders less valuable. Do you take a raw, unproven, high ceiling recruit that may decide to transfer when he doesn't make it onto the field his 2nd year, or do you grab a proven G5 late bloomer who can't easily transfer away from you. (You are also paying for Favour's developmental years, rather than letting some other school pay for it.)
If Favour sticks around, makes the adjustment to college and develops.... then he's like getting a 5 star OT at a discount. But at this point he may no longer be a discount.

Pinkston flipped his pick to Bama
I’m not putting a lot of stock into what UF’s recruiting guys think given they’re definitely on the outside looking in. But I thought it was interesting enough to pass along

Didn’t we have a couple of Nigerian princes before on OT? Wanogho and Sammon maybe.

Bunch of CBs for Favour to Bama coming in.
Pretty much what we thought. UF insiders working on old info.

Great answer man. I've had this same thought which makes me think the coaches actually adore him. I remember the Auburn live guys saying that we cut Jayden lewis and stopped pursuing several others, because they may not contribute the first two years. Freeze and his staff are only after elite talent that can at least HELP now.

Yeah Prince Tega Wanogho and Prince Micheal Sammons. Both had similar profiles like Edwin 6’6”+ giant men and raw. Wanogho is on the Chiefs roster.

This is NIL now, we dont pay top dollar for "potential" and as Gryphon said, we dont pay to be a training ground for someone to then ask for a lot more money or leave in two years after we have developed him while he collected.
If the asking price is anywhere near Mak Pounders, take Mak and go to the portal again in two years.
Echols on the other hand is worth it and so is Carter.

You need some kids like Favour, but you never know if they will be a Tega Wanagho or a Prince Sammons.
Next years oline class is stacked and we look pretty good so far.

Prince Tega?
Real tough guess there Chex....have you ever met someone from Nigeria who was not named Prince?
Posted on 12/13/23 at 10:05 am to TiggerWoods
Yeah guys like Favour are nice to have in the program
I know Trinidad is heavily into the NIL stuff but we gotta develop guys too. I’m sure there’s considerations regarding NIL allotment and all that but we talk sometimes like we know what’s all happening with NIL and I really don’t think we do

That's profiling and profiling is wrong
