Truth is, this season proved it pays to play weaker schedules. Shame on the committee. Bama was clearly a top 4 team and the natty was an embarrassment because the committee didn’t do their dang jobs. Lowest viewed natty in 20 years. Great job playoff committee.
Truth is, the committee just screwed up the initial CFP bracket. Semifinals should've been #1 UGA vs #4 TCU and #2 UM vs #3 OSU.

personally, i think um should not have been in the cfp at all, with the schedule they played. not a single ranked team in their ooc schedule

Some guy out on Twitter said that two radio hosts I think out of Mobile (99.5 maybe? ) said he turned the job down… not sure how reliable that is
that sounds credible considering plane was in athens

Wrong again

My point that strength of schedule will prove to be very valuable in the 12-team CFP's seeding is not wrong. You just can't admit your myopic hot takes are flawed. Would you bet on any #8-12 seeds reaching and winning the CFP final? Also, it's pretty dang difficult for Bama to go unscathed in SEC play. You even say FBS CG & OOC games should be nixed.

Your point is seeding. My point is getting into the playoffs. I let the seeding take care of itself. But I find an SEC team is going to get respect it deserves based on conference rep alone so worrying about seeding is not as important to me unless it becomes blatant they are trying to screw us.. But there are a LOT of factors that we can't discuss here that could be relevant to a specific year or situatation..... But we also need a BCS style computer picking the teams and not people behind closed doors just randomly picking best vs deserving. Bama would have been in this year based on the legit computer models I saw. I 100% stand by OOC and CG.

Alabama's problem has never been OOC, when was the last time we lost a regular season OOC game?
I'd rather watch us play the Texases and FSUs of the world then watch a scrimmage against Chattanooga and Wofford

The SECCG usually stands to hurt the teams more than help. Its just a money rack for the conference. The conference is here to HELP teams get into the playoffs. Why should our teams have to risk injury, another game before playoffs start, and beating each other up?....The committee may look at that game result and say, "Well, the loser lost another game so we are gonna take an ACC team instead".

why not both

That question kind of loops around to how this whole conversation got started. Playing a hard OOC schedule doesn't improve our chances of getting into the playoffs because we are already in the SEC which carries its own level of difficulty and respect. So all an SEC team has to do is win its games and then they are in the playoffs. Then face other conferences there.

Wrong. Within the 12-team CFP, strength of schedule affects the teams' ranking/seeding. The top-4 seeds get quarter-final byes and the semi-finals at their home stadiums. So, it's smarter to schedule decent OOC opponents who have winning records to beef up your strength of schedule.
If there was a 12 team playoff this year we would’ve still be 5 and TCU would’ve still been 3. Until the committee starts punishing teams for playing a terrible schedule we should do what gives us the best chance to win all of our regular season games.

It’s not about losing the game it’s about the ooc effecting our ability to take it easy before big games on the schedule. Traveling to Austin hurt our ranking this year. There’s no way to prove it but I believe if we hadn’t traveled to Texas we would’ve spent that week preparing for Tennessee and we would’ve beat them.

The primary issue with our 2022 schedule was playing all of our tougher opponents on the road. Playing an OOC game @Texas didn't cause our poor performance @ Tennessee and @ LSU. Our OC & DC did a poor job and our players were continually shooting us in the foot with costly mistakes. Bryce's injury was a big negative factor too. Eliminate just 1 key mistake in each of those 2 losses and we'd have won both. However, we very nearly lost 2 more games (TX & ATM) in similar fashion.

Iron sharpens iron. That's a proven fact.
We had 3 other cupcakes throughout the year, that's plenty
We lost to Tennessee because we didn't run the clock out and left them time to drive down the field and kick a game winning FG. We lost because we had a shite ton of penalties. Not because we traveled to Austin, Tx 6 weeks earlier
