Also possibly suffered seizures.

Sometimes a patient in cardiac arrest will display brief seizure like activity and sometimes they'll suffer seizures post-arrest after ROSC.

Post arrest seizures are a very bad sign and usually mean there's very serious brain damage.

My brother suffered cardiac arrest with lost of oxygen to the brain earlier this year. The paramedics got to him in about 8 min and immediately intubated him. When he got to the hospital he was having seizures (which we later found out was from brain damage). About 5 hours after the cardiac arrest they induced hypothermia. Unfortunately when they warms him up the next day he continued cardiac arrest and had no brain function and passed away the next day.

This situation sounds eerily similar to my brother. Prayers for the family and prayers that he recovers. Doctors can work some miracles.
