That is the issue with out of hospital cardiac arrest and why the mortality rate is about 90% in the US.

If you aren't getting good, high quality CPR immediately after the arrest in 10 minutes or less it's all over. If we get there somewhere around that 10 minute mark we'll probably get your heart started back and you might even start breathing again but we got back a house plant. You're never going to wake up.
