How do the Japanese and other Asians remain so fit and trim when rice is the staple of their diet?

Not really

Biggest issue in their diet is too much salt but when they eat rice (say sushi) it is mixed with vegetables and proteins but the biggest issue there is portion size. They may eat 4 pcs of sushi but Americans may eat 12 to 24.

The effects of excess carbs in our diets on our health.

COVID vaccine arguments.

Vasectomies and discussion of reversal.

Veterinarians posing as doctors.

Mike Leach would be proud.

What the medical profession is finding out in past decade is that different ethnicities/ DNA groups handle dietary components differently. For instance, various groups can be much more likely to become diabetic on certain diets than others.

Insulin is the culprit, and carbohydrates spike insulin. Eat fat. Food and Pharma are squeezing us from both ends

It’s no coincidence the obesity epidemic started around the time govt pushed to eliminate fats in food and subsequently processed food replaced fats with sugar for flavor.

Eating fats doesn’t translate to getting fat. Your body processes things like sugar into fat.

He went into cardiac arrest, was intubated, and had to be defibrillated multiple times. I’m hearing that he’s probably not going to make it. Pray for Leach

The kind of CHF that would cause a life flight does not come on suddenly. No way in hell Leach would've had the energy to coach the Egg Bowl with CHF that had progressed very far.

When CHF is at that point, a person can barely stay awake. They walk around in (when they can actually move) in absolute haze. Coaching just wouldn't have been possible.

With milder/earlier CHF yeah you can still do things but CHF doesn't progress from nothing to BOOM like a heart attack. It's a slow and very long decline before it reaches a very, very, serious point.

Well, and Southern mama's and grannies that knew how to cook with lard, real butter, real cheese, real heavy cream, and lots of flour, sugar, and salt.

Not sure what you are trying to say. EMTALA doesn't "cover" anyone. EMTALA makes hospitals stabilize patients and allows transfer if the illness is beyond the capabilities of said hospital. They are allowed to transfer then and it not be "dumping".

What I'm saying is that if you call 911 and say you want to go to facility X, I call facility X and get told "we are on diversion, take them somewhere else", and my patient says IDGAF take me to facility X then by law facility X has to accept that patient.

If the patient goes to facility X, gets admitted to the ER, is found to have something beyond that hospital's capabilities, and that hospital wants to transfer them to facility Y, facility Y is free to say IDGAF how sick they are we aren't taking them.

Happens all the time around here. Seriously ill patients sit in the ER for sometimes days because they treatment beyond what the local facility can provide but they can't find a facility to accept the patient. I personally know of one case where the patient's family checked them out AMA (nod, nod, wink), called 911 from the parking lot, and had the patient transported to the higher level facility because it then had no choice but to accept them.

It isn't about the first facility dumping, it's about them trying to find the help the person really needs but getting turned down. I brought it up in relation to strokes because of the time window issue.
