I agree, these people are proven to be irredeemable.

Unfortunately, they don’t appear to be putting actual child molesters “under the jail.”

Some serve less than a year.

That is just heartbreaking. Less than a year for molestation is not right, especially if the touching involved genitals (ugh it makes me feel icky to even think about).

I think that with anyone convicted of pedophilia lifetime monitoring** as well as lifetime psychiatric treatment absolutely has to be a condition of release regardless of how many years they serve. Based on what we know there's no cure and yet we know that when we release them their urges will not go away unless they choose something like chemical castration and stay compliant with it.

If we're serious about protecting children we have to get serious about monitoring and lifetime treatment/counseling. Miss an appointment or fail to comply with therapy? Go straight back to prison for a term of at least 6 full months. This needs to be a part of any release when a sex crime involves pre-pubescent children.

**Real monitoring not a simple sex offender's registry but an actual program that keeps tabs on them regularly for life. Specialized and more intensive parole.

There has been talk about chemically neutering these individuals. Makes them basically not feel any emotion. Like zombies. The good thing about that is they are basically walking corpses on certain drugs so they have no urge to do anything. The bad thing is there are no permanent institutions who will take them in. And if they go off the mandated medication, they are a got damn disaster on society. Sad but they need to be babysat until they fricking die
