You would think a “military” school would practice good fire arm safety

I have been raised go treat every weapon like it is loaded.. firing a cannon at another human during a football game screams amateur hour and is very irresponsible. Have the people responsible been removed yet?

They’re not actually in the military just like trick or treaters aren’t actually ghosts and vampires

It’s not firing a projectile, Scuba Steve.

They are little kids wearing uniforms that are two sizes too small and they get distracted by choo choo trains. Army needs to shut this bullshite down and take all their shite away. frick this program.

Are you some kinda idiot? Didn't you hear they "warned them"? All is fair when a "warning" is given. Just ask the Commandant!

Lol, they found it in a ditch.
Like the Army would give these goobers anything remotely lethal.

A group of cadets working on harvesting timber near Easterwood Airport for the Aggie Bonfire back in 1975 found two cannons half buried in a ditch near the cutting zone. The cannons was retrieved and sent off to a machine shop in Georgetown, Texas, for combining and restoration into one operable gun. The Aggies began using the cannon in 1984 at football games.

This might be what they mean by “ tradition “? I can’t find much about their program other than they’ve had a team for a long time.

I take great pleasure in knowing how worked up the LSU fanbase is about this. Only thing better would be if the yell leaders fired it.

So it's not even a tradition that goes back to 18-whatever, even wooooorse.
What a pathetic fake piece of shite program AnM is.
I can't believe it tool all these years for me to see it. I guess being a UGA fan we don't think about AnM too often.
Everything the LSU and Longhorn fans said about Aggie is true.
All of it.
What a garbage program.

Let me tell you a story about Santa, little Johnny.

"The gun is fired approximately 150 times a year. The exact number depends on the success of the Aggie football team."
It seems extreme inexperience of the cannon crew played a part in this incident.

They don’t call them Dumb Aggies for nothing

The Army doesn't fire cannons like what they used for the game. Those Cadets never got formal Army training for the firing of that cannon. Watch how West Point does it and the equipment they use.

Closer to home, you could watch LSU.....the cadets and security rope off a safety area to fire the howitzer...AND the tube is elevated to about 45 degrees or in artillery speak, 800 mils
