There's no way they let three SEC teams in. UGA gets in under this scenario. The question would be whether UT or LSU gets in. Frankly, a one loss UT should get in over a two loss LSU.

They won't keep the SEC Champion out.

Yeah, I realize that's not the point of this thread, but it does seem most likely.

I'd love that match up too
Yeah, it'd be nice to make up for that lost 2020 game, and even up the series right before UTx joins the SEC.

If it’s a playoff LSU has the best bad claim.
If it’s an invitational tournament then UGA and LSU get in.

TCU loses and Tenn wins out, Tenn is in 100%

So an invitational tournament, not a playoff. Tennessee doesn’t deserve a playoff spot. They didn’t win the division much less the conference. And for it to be a playoff to crown a champion there needs to be some standards.

As an LSU fan, I obviously want to see LSU in the playoffs if they run the table and beat UGA in the SECCG to become SEC Champs, but I can’t say it would sit right with me as a college football fan in general to see a team with 1 loss from the SEC or any other conference be alienated from the playoffs as a result of that.
There’s something fundamentally jacked up with that. However, it would be pretty awful to the see the SEC champ miss out as well.
All that being said, I don’t see LSU beating UGA this year, but if they do, and get into the CFB Playoffs, then it could very well be the very thing that pushes us all to a 12 team playoff, and that doesn’t bother me. One more week of college football??? Oh darn. Guess I’ll have to soldier through it.

Georgia
Depending on how other teams play out the season, possibly Tennessee

But, moreover, it is the same discussion as Bama, UT and UGA. The viewership would be awful having to watch 3 teams that had all played each other get a chance to play again in some combination.
For Bama to get in, they would have to win the SEC game. To do that they would have to beat Ole Miss, meaning LSU would have to lose both remaining SEC games to finish 8-4. That makes the Bama loss to LSU look even worse. Then again, stranger things.

LSU for sure if they win out
Georgia is in if TCU loses

If Auburn had beaten UGA in 2017, they would have AND should have been in as a 2-loss SEC champion.
Penn State SHOULD have gone as a 2-loss Big 10 champion over Ohio State in 2016.
Here endeth the lesson.

god help this board
It's an LSU board with BAMA and UGA fans so obsessed with UT right now that they can't see straight. The board would pick LSU.

As long as bama isn't anywhere near it I'm good

I think a lot of chaos needs to happen for LSU to make the playoffs. 1 loss Georgia is likely in, 1 loss big 10 champ is in. Undefeated TCU is in.
1 loss Tennessee is likely in if Georgia wins SEC, but may need Utah to win the pac 12.
Oregon is likely in in if they win out and Georgia wins the SEC.
LSU is in if they win out, TCU Loses the big 12, Illinois wins out beating Michigan in the big 10 championship, and Utah beats Oregon, possibly might need Clemson to keep looking like the worst P5 conference champ.

Yes all 3 get in
Don't think so. In fact, the winds are blowing the other direction - away from the SEC toward the other conferences. They're sick of being excluded - even tho they aren't as good. I think Georgia gets in, and maybe one other.

Scenario 1: UGA & LSU in
Scenario 2: UGA only SEC team in
Scenario 3: UGA & TN in
Scenario 2 & 3 would be interesting but would leave LSU hungry and the schedule and roster greatly sets up for LSU for a championship run in 23 .
