Wow, we've gone from, "my team is better than your team" to, "my airport is better than your airport".

Yes we have. Honestly, I don't even care about the CCG anymore. Hartsfield is steaming shite heap of an airport. I despise flying in and out of Atlanta for work. I have no idea how anyone actually likes that mess. It needs to be shouted from the rooftops, but all I have is this shitty message board, so here we are.

I don't know about football, but looking at that map, I would love to see the SEC baseball tournament in Pensacola.

And as a visitor you aren’t driving right up to the gate. You’re paying a toll, riding down a 5 mile parkway to get dropped off in a dungeon under the airport with storm sewer dripping in your head

Or you could just tell your cab/Uber driver what your gate is, and get dropped off at the door right in front of your gate.

It’s unfortunate that Landmass and Alabama are in the center of the conference. There ain’t shite there.

I’m probably the only person on earth who doesn’t care for Nashville. The city just doesn’t do anything for me. I get the appeal though.

As far as airports, I don’t think there’s a good argument between DFW, MSY, ATL, and BNA. All of them have their faults, but MSY def has the best food.

I hate Atlanta.
But it makes sense to have SECCG there.

It wouldn’t be if they hadn’t pulled a bunch of shady shite years ago. Memphis was set to become the Airport Hub of the US given it’s more central location and FedEx home.

Then ATL threw a fit and threatened. Northwest goes belly up and Delta pulls the deal.

Atlanta handles 6-7x the volume faster. And that’s not including the massive international volume.

100% this.

Atlanta is one of the top convention cities on the planet, and as much as the coonasses on here don't wanna hear it, it is by far the best equipped logistically to handle the SECCG every year smoothly.

It is horrible for originating traffic. Funneling all 5 councourses worth of passengers through the same main terminal security checkpoints is AWFUL for large events, and barely keeps up woth regular weekly business travel in and out of Atlanta as it is.

This is 100% false.

The SEC has committed to Atlanta through 2027, and is getting ready to sign another 5-10 year deal to extend that period.

In all that land Birmingham or Huntsville would be the biggest spot and even if they were combined they still would not be big enough?

I have flown Memphis and they are a collectors collector

Like Louisville (UPS) they are focused on freight, not passengers.

we rotating the sugar bowl too or nah?

The argument used to be that the SEC championship couldn’t be in New Orleans because the winner goes to the Sugar Bowl. The winner of the SEC championship game hasn't gone to the Sugar Bowl in years. And now the Peach Bowl is in the CFP rotation as much as the Sugar Bowl is, so the old argument is worthless.
