Which is the exact opposite of the situation in Oxford right now. Tuberville did not want to go to Auburn but our AD and Chancellor basically refused to support him in any way.
Tuberville:
quote:
The way Tuberville remembers it, he was committed to Ole Miss at the time he made those comments but a meeting with the school’s chancellor, Robert Khayat, quickly changed all that, which led to his eventual departure to SEC West rival Auburn.
“(Khayat) said, ‘Tub, I see they are courting you at different schools.’ I said, ‘Chancellor, I’ll be honest with you, our coaches don’t want to go. They want to work here,” Tuberville said. “But, I’m here on behalf of them. We can’t keep doing it with smoke and mirrors. We need some help.
“You have a billion-dollar fund-raiser going for academics. If you give us $50 million of that one billion for athletics, I’ll go out and help you raise that billion, not just the $50 million to give us some help.’”
They could not reach an agreement and that left Tuberville and his staff to reevaluate their options, according to the coach. It wasn’t long before they were off to The Plains.

No he's not. He fricking hates it there. But he's sure as shite not trading it for that Walmart parking lot shite diaper in West Georgia.
If Kiffin stays in conference, he'll wait for Alabama to open up.

It’s the perfect gig until Saban retires and he comes back to Tuscaloosa.
I thought Dabo Swinney and Kirby Smart were coming when Saban retires? Lane Kiffin coming too?
The three of them is going to be an awesome staff. Congrats.

After OM gets beatdown by Bama his tone will change. He is competing for a west tile...wtf else would he say

AU is going to get Lane another pay day and that’s fine. Then they should target and hire Rhule. But this is Auburn we’re talking about. They just fired a coach that beat Lane exactly 1 year ago. Never try to understand the boosters and alumni on the Plains and their motives. You cannot. All are driven by a blind hatred for all that is Alabama and Crimson.

He gone. Maybe not to Auburn this year. Could be Texas next year then…

If AU wants him, they stand a good chance of getting him.
Either way, Kiffin is about to get a huge raise from someone.

Is this just based on your feelings or what? If he hates it so much, he would have already bolted. He's had plenty of opportunities. He sure has gone out of his way to comment on his love of Oxford to hate it so much.

Lane Kiffin on if Auburn contacted him, would he listen? "We don't comment on those things"
He's house shopping in Auburn hoping AU asks
That's giga gone energy

We've beaten Saban plenty of times. Doesn't make him a bad coach.

I have one valuable CFB source and he told me this week that Lane is eager to move on. I'm not going to say who it is or try and convince you, and it's not someone at Ole Miss or Auburn.
That statement reads exactly like someone being gracious about his current employer while getting ready to entertain other opportunities, in my view.
All that said, I think it's entirely possible Lane says, be it because he doesn't think the jump is big enough, he's got another target in mind, or because Auburn isn't willing to go to whatever his number is. Word is that Auburn might be willing to go to 10-11 for LK, who by any measure isn't worth that. But who knows, maybe we won't. Or maybe he's not the top target he's speculated to be.

Keep telling yourself that but no he’s really not, he will never win a national championship at Ole Miss do you know it and he knows it
I knew it so did Ole Miss fans. One reason is a lack of resources to compete with the top programs.

I don't understand the Lane love!
He hasn't done anything significant in any of his coaching stops. He's a good offensive coordinator. That's about it!

Saban can win a championship in Tuscaloosa, even Chiz won a NC at AU. Lane can’t finish in Oxford

He may eventually leave Ole Miss, but it won't be because he's unhappy at Ole Miss.

After Houston Nutt, every Ole Miss coach will have performance based bonuses in the contract. It's standard practice now.
For ticket sales though? Most other coaches incentives are for championship seasons both conference and national etc...
Not the landmass though hey lane you're not doing anything how about going outside and start hocking some tickets. :rotflmao: :rotflmao:
