Nick Saban was on the Plaza the day 4 students were randomly shot by the National Guard at Kent State.. I wonder if he thinks he was in the wrong place at the wrong time?
Saban didn't throw Oats under the bus. He threw the entire University under the bus.. From the BoT , the President, the AD , Oats and all the way down to Brandon Miller.
I don't care if he has won 20 NC's, he wrong and he should clarify. If not... he can go watch the ducks shite in the yard!
He's not bigger than the Institution...period

Can we shut the f*ck up about Nick Saban's press conference about spring football?
We're about to have possibly the single biggest basketball weekend in the 100+ year history of the program. Who gives a solitary F*CK about this other than people who talk about bullsh*t for a living in blogs and on the radio?

I DON'T CARE ABOUT THE FRONT PAGE
IF I WANTED TO READ ABOUT IT I'D GO TO THE FRONT PAGE OF A BLOG OR NEWSPAPER OR TURN ON SHOCK JOCK RADIO
This is literally a thread about Alabama basketball and we are the favorites to win a region in 6 days and go to the Final Four for the first time ever. What Nick Saban said yesterday has absolutely no bearing on these dudes, SDSU, Creighton or Princeton. I don't give two frickin shits about it at this moment and I refuse to let it take up 1% of my brain when we have such an awesome moment ahead of us.

Apologies, that was all a bit much. I get the frustration about it.

What Saban said affects the Basketball Team.. so its relevant to this thread..regardless if you care or not

Disagree - I don't think it affects them at all, at least not in a negative way. I think that the entire situation has actually made them more determined and closer than anything else after a bit of fraying early on in everything.
To be frank, I think the more noise about it shows up the more they shut everybody else out and go to work together. Ever since they got to Nashville they've clearly been on the same page, locked in, playing for eachother and as close as any basketball team I've ever seen at Alabama.

I nominate SoG to give the team their pre-game speech on Friday.

It'd be one thing if the team seemed to be reeling from this stuff, but after an (understandable) initial stumble.......they look completely un-phased and even more on a mission because of it.
Pat Forde, Clay Travis and Dan Wolken getting their rocks off one more time ain't gonna do shite to do these dudes.

I understand ehat you are saying and I'm not being disrespectful to you.
But the first time Oats goes to a podium he is going to be ask about Saban's comments, which is just another distraction in a sea of distractions. So I think it does affect the Oats, the team and the message the University has tried to display with a united front.
IMO, Saban's words were purposeful.. and in my eyes thats a problem. He is the most powerful voice in sports and he threw the University he is employed by under the bus.
Theres no excuse for what he did and said.
Paul Bryant left UK because Adolf Rupp refused to share an inkling of the limelight.
If I am correct, Saban's comments yesterday will make Nate Oats reconsider his future at Alabama..a football first Institution.

My hope would be that if Saban's comments truly had nothing to do with Oats and the basketball situation that, once it was brought to his attention (which is undoubtedly was), that he privately reached out to Oats immediately and let him know that he truly didn't mean to cross streams and use the same language and that is that.
If he did it on purpose then I'm guessing that will be a thing at some point in the future and hopefully not until after we win a National Championship in 2 weeks.

Per usual...folks are overreacting big time when it comes to what Nick said. It’s a non issue. Let it go.

It is amazing at how mentally strong Brandon Miller is with the way he has played through all of this. Bradley has hardly been mentioned at all other than he was also there and I bet if you go back and look at his stats since it came out he was there compared to his stats prior to that revelation it would be shocking. Actually wish I had the time to do that.
