I am afraid our past hiring strategies continue.
Make an underwhelming hire and then get stuck in bad contract later.
Would be nice once to get the big hire at least before having to pay for a bad contract.

From a X&O POV, he is probably right behind Dykes interms of production. He is on his 3rd string QB this year and is productive. I can't stand the old southern Baptist vibe, but I can't deny that it works with the type of recruits we want.

He is a southern football coach. His personality is more common in that community. Imagine a bunch of CoachJays but IRL.

It will be some 9 million for 6 years and when he wins 6 games next year and 7 the year after Auburn will be on the hook for another 35 million buyout

Freeze has had 2 the past month. The major red flag is he got beat by Tater Tot with Willis last year and there is no excusing that.

The continued and constant vitriol towards Freeze is strange. Beating a dead horse. Go after Cohen and Roberts if you hate the move. They had over a month.
If Freeze is a disaster, or even mediocre (probably), he will be gone within 2 years. And no Auburn won't fall into some black hole. They'll be bad until they aren't - like UT. All the money talk, buy outs, etc is just play money. Look up the net worth of the boosters. Just glad they actually support football.

Our fans would rather bitch and moan publicly and make a big spectacle out of it. Nothing new.
Get behind the hire or get out of the way. We don't need to kneecap another coach before he coaches a game.
