That wouldn’t be a bad hire though.

Imagine if we could hire Coach Prime and then get Garner back for him and finally lure McGee away from Georgia. It would be a recruiting bonanza.

I hear, well Deion could recruit, but.... Just stop there. We need a top notch recruiter first and foremost right now. We have to rebuild with top notch recruiting. If you think some Freeze or Lashley or someone like that is going to come in and get us to Championships taking Bama and Georgia scraps, then you don't know what they hell you are talking about.

Recruiting now, recruiting tomorrow, recruiting forever.

Too bad he can’t be our dickhead that wins.

Our recruiting struggles would end. Our only problem would be we would become Auburn nation over night with so many cult Deion fans trying to join our board. I consider that a good problem. All ten of us could be overlords here.

stay local and bring in Coach G. Dude has had the most success putting Auburn players in the league, he helped Malzahn represent Auburn well, and he preaches toughness and love for his players. He can be our Sam Pittman. He won’t be a home run hire but he will be a stability hire.

At this point imo we need and have to get a HOMERUN hire during this coaching search or we just waste an opportunity to be relevant again. Right now we are a laughing stock

We've reached the point where Harsin is getting argumentative with beat writers in the Monday Press Conference.

If deion became head coach who would be the assistant coaches. Or who would be on the wishlist. He would probably attract a lot of kids to auburn. But he would need some help from assistant coaches

What about Todd Monken, the OC at Georgia? It was a short stay, but he turned Southern Miss around.

And I agree, something was odd about the Harsin hire. Not sure how it happened. For those who want to believe it, Harsin's hire seems to validate we couldn't get a quality hire. But things could have occurred or gone sideways that no booster wants to talk about. Not everyone on the same page, and it was getting late in the season to hire? Somebody made some promises they shouldn't? More than one person pulled their support? And by that time, the Agent(s) were hot-boxing for a decision?

I still believe Auburn is a prime landing spot. Even if we screw up again, you won't convince me otherwise. An above average coach can win championships here.

Everything I've seen says Harsin is a jerk so I'm not surprised his staff failed. He had massive staff turnover and player loss. This was all ongoing last year before the investigation went down.

Everything I've seen from Deion - his players and staff absolutely love him. Given that his entire life has revolved around football, I'm sure he has a rolodex of names and could get a staff together. Worst case scenario he brings in a bunch of recruiters + excitement and fills the cupboards with talent.

What about PJ Fleck? Love the guy’s energy. Do we risk hiring someone with no recruiting experience in the south again?

Fickell
Aranda
Campbell
Take KY’s AD and Stoops?

Do not disagree he would bring recruits. However I would be afraid to give him the keys with so little experience. We aren't just hiring a recruiter.

Ummmm.... his current staff at Jackson State?

Nobody worth a damn, is going to take orders from a guy who was coaching high school two years ago, and just came in from that perennial powerhouse, Jackson State.

You guys that keep bringing Sanders, are obviously clueless. Top coordinators and assistants don't go to work for guys with that resume.

Fleck, Fickel, Campbell - I have them all in a similar bucket of B10 and how will they translate. Of them I probably like Fickell the best but it's because he's coached at OSU which is the closest thing to the SEC in that conference IMO.

Aranda and Stoops - would like either of these just not sure it's realistic

What, you don’t wanna row the boat down at Chewacla with me? Just spit balling a name not mentioned. The list I made is who I’d at least attempt to engage.

I still cannot believe some of you actually believe Deion F'n Sanders might actually come coach football at Auburn University.

We are Auburn fans, though. Not sure why I'm surprised. If I have to eat my words, I will do so and will enjoy watching the show. High, and I mean HIGH, risk high reward. If Sanders comes in, recruits as we would expect, and coaches a winning football program - build a statue.

ETA: Can you imagine being a football or basketball recruit, walking on campus, and who do you see?

How is Deion a high risk candidate? We are already close to the bottom. All we need is him to retool our program and the move will pay off.

Low risk/ high reward is what we want.
