The good:

- Stetson and Monken are completely in sync
- Tons of playmakers with varied skill sets, making this offense a nightmare to game plan against
- #24 Malaki Starks is going to be a superstar

The bad:

- Guard play needs improvement, but can get corrected
- ILBs were out of position too much, but that will come with more experience

The ugly:

- Not sure the DL play overall is going to be up to snuff, and I'm not sure we have the bodies overall to correct that easily

We are much improved. Defense is salty and the offense was clicking

We will be a dangerous team to anyone and can win 10 games if we avoid the typical leach head scratching loss

We looked damn good but I didn’t see the OL dominance that we missed so badly last year.

OL is bad. If it doesn’t get fixed quickly we are in big trouble.

King looked a little out of control at times but I can’t tell if that is just how he plays or if he just has zero confidence in the OL.

Defense looked good overall.

Special teams don’t look quite locked in and Smith tries to do too much in my opinion.

Mostly played hard. But poorly. No competent unit on the team. Looked like a team in a total rebuild with a long ways to improve

Have a mobile quarterback who doesn't pass well. A below average offensive line. The few upperclassmen on the team showed relatively little leadership (poor play like dropped passes and dumb quarterback hits).

Kelly looked rattled in the first half but better later in the game. Daniels kept playing and completed a few passes against prevent defense but fairly little prior (did not against real defensive sets).

LSU needs to establish some rhythm against cupcakes before the team is good enough to beat the bottom half of the SEC schedule.

Alabama, Florida and probably Tennessee should beat the LSU team that we saw yesterday by three or more touchdowns. Winning six games to be bowl eligible is the medium term goal.

Definitely improved. I think with a 4-0 start we are looking at a 9-3 or 10-2 season if the QB stays healthy.

I give us a D

We have room to grow and compete in this league, and there is talent on the roster. We weren’t ready for Florida State and got smacked. We won’t be favored in any SEC game on our schedule if execution doesn’t improve. If things do get better I think we can scrape together 7 wins and go to a Rebuild Bowl.

Ags have plenty of defense to make a run. Offensive line struggled to run vs Sam Houston... pretty much how we started off last year. 2 of our best oline starters were out so we will see what happens next week. Running game is a concern following last year.

If our line makes a big progress and we can establish the run then it will be easier to get a real read on King. I didn't like his passes... they seemed to float. Against SECw teams he probably would have had 2 more picks in first half. Yikes.

Our offense is a huge question mark for me right now.

Figures we finally have the best QB in ages and our OL is folding like a lawn chair.

Arkansas win vs. #23 Cincinnati

Satisfied.

Defense: With all starters on defense playing, pitched a shutout and created turnovers. With key starters out on defense, stayed in man and did not shutout but still caused turnovers. Got good to decent pressure on the QB playing against what is likely to be one of the top 2-3 OL’s Arkansas plays this season. 3 sacks, 8 TFL’s, and forced 2 TO’s. Landon Jackson probably looked the best of the front 7 transfers. Drew Sanders should contribute nicely as well.

Offense: Not much changed. Cincy took away the deep ball and tried to stack 6-7 in the box to stop the run. KJ went through his progressions nicely most of the day and was 18/26 with 3 TDs and 0 INTs. Rushed for over 200 yards and showed big play ability on the ground and in the air. Trey Knox May end up being one of the best TEs in the conference. Haselwood and Landers look to be threats at WR and had nice first games. Rocket Sanders averaged 5 ypc and hit 117 rushing yards. RB room should get Dominique Johnson back this week, which is the bruiser of the bunch.

Was impressed but got a few things to clean up. Damn sloppy tackling and penalties to name a few.

The good
Oline. Probably the best we’ve had in a decade
RBs. Very solid
QB special talent that must stay healthy
The bad
Wrs. We don’t have a guy that can stretch the field
The ugly
Defensive depth. The starters are SEC good but our backups are group of 5 level

9-3 is attainable but if anything happens to Richardson 5-7 is more than likely

Offensive line looked ok, run blocking left a little to be desired. Not as concerned about the pass rush as some of our fans. Ball state was getting the ball out the QBs hand pretty quickly. However, the back seven was not good. Jeremy Banks was running all over the place but didn’t contribute much if anything. Warren Burrell might be the worst starting corner in the league. The next three weeks will decide what kind of season UT has. They could be 4-0 or 2-2. If they’re 4-0, 10-2 isn’t out of the question. If they’re 2-2, 7-5 is on the table, which would be a massive disappointment.

We looked sound but it was a cream puff opponent. I’ll believe it when I see it (meaning we beat a bid dog).
