Why did Jimbo turn down more money from LSU to stay at A&M?

Let's try not to be childish here, okay.
LSU is obviously one of the schools where it is possible to build a program that contends for national titles year in and year out. They have done it. A&M has not. And yet Jimbo obviously thinks it is happening at A&M, or he never would have refused a raise from LSU to stay at A&M.
I know most of this board prays to baby Jesus that he fails, all the more because he scorned your school twice, once to stay at FSU and once to stay at A&M. Others of you (non LSU fans) want him to fail because you hate to think that A&M might take a spot in the elite that you want your school to take. I get it.
You'll pretend. "He's terrible! So glad he said no! He's done nothing!" Some of you might even manage to convince yourselves of what you desperately want to believe. But deep down, you know better.

Because at LSU, mediocre gets you fired, even within 2 years of a national championship.
Jimbo knows that if he even makes it to Atlanta, aggy will give $200 million.
Expectations are different.

The answer is obvious. Lower expectations.

Texag already made this thread this morning

He has a comfortable situation with less pressure than LSU & he knew the 2022 class was going to special. I can't stand Jimbo but he has a good thing going on, why leave?

lol Les Miles went 8-5 and 9-4 in 2008 and 2009 but then hung around for another 6+ seasons

A few reasons but not all
- A&M has better facilities/stadium
- Infinity better hospital care with nearby Houston for his son
- Better land/outdoor/hunting opportunities
- Baton Rouge is trashy as hell

Never enough threads about LSU here.
Grateful Reb is already thinking about his next one.

Message boards are so fascinating. The most ridiculous answers, so flimsy a child could see through them, get parroted as truth, and it almost seems like those who parrot them even sometimes come to believe them. People are so funny.

2010-2013 were all damn good seasons.
And 2015 was awesome for about 9 weeks.

Jimbo looked a lot more appealing circa 2015 when Miles was running the program aground with failed QB experiment after failed QB experiment. He was the guy in ‘15 before Alleva got cucked. We know what he is since that Florida State natty and we know what he is in this league. You aren’t winning titles with that offense. He’s fine for A&M. you’ll recruit well and get your 8-4 seasons. We win championships. You aren’t us.

Aggy fans don’t understand the definition of “job security”

All that you listed and A&M is still LSU's Bitch

LSU must be a pretty damn good program if 9-4 is “mediocre”

Ole Miss and Aggy fans like to cherry pick the years to try and fit their narrative.
Fun to watch, for sure.
