Yes it is mainly either “hand to RB or throw”, but having a QB with an elite running ability adds a third element to the scheme which makes it that much more difficult to defend.
I've never saw a Jimbo Fisher offense run this type of RPO

That would be a normal zone read play. You wouldn’t know if the pass was an option. You’ve never seen A&M run zone read?

Box count, you have numbers you run the zone read, you don’t you pass….
These are often the ones that get the most linemen downfield calls bc the ol and the rb are run play 100%.

Yes you would.
You can tell an RPO from a designed run simply by watching the receivers and offensive line.

Yes, but never a zone read within an RPO.

Tell me in detail what the OL do differently. Go ahead.

Um what? The offensive line runs the run play full tilt, it should look exactly the same as if their wasn't a pass option tagged.
Please give your definition of what a rpo is because clearly you have something mixed up.

Its going to really blow his mind when Jimbo calls the RPO on a QB draw without the RB.

If it's a true RPO, the offensive line is run blocking and the receivers are actually running routes.
If it's a designed run, the offensive line is run blocking and the receivers are running dummy routes or blocking.
A zone read is often the quarterback reading an unblocked lineman while an RPO usually requires the quarterback to read a linebacker or safety to hand the ball off or throw a pass.

I understand that all of you Aggies are confused because Jimbo doesn't run RPO's much.

It'd be a first for him.
Jimbo doesn't utilize RPO's much at all and he also doesn't utilize designed quarterback runs of any kind much.

Far be it from me to argue with an Aggie who has 600 Twitter followers but neither of those plays look like an actual post snap RPO.

Go look up on sec stat cat what those plays were and how many QB draw RPOs Jimbo has called. It's not a ton but we do it (RPO) 2-5 times a game when he had someone like Mond.

They won’t be remotely close to what they were under Elko, and if their offense doesn’t make major strides they’re losing 5+ games. Feel free to bookmark this, I’ve ignored the Aggot off-season hype train for about 10 years now and told everyone what was actually going to happen with Chavis, etc. and I’ve had responses like yours every time.
The stats aren’t there with Durkin. In 6 years of being a HC and DC, he’s had 3 defenses ranked outside of the top 100, he’s never ranked in the top 50 in scoring defense, and he’s averaged somewhere in the 80’s in both scoring defense and YPP over those 6 years.
What makes you believe DJ Durkin can build an elite defense when he’s been below average his entire career?
Oof. Where are all of the arrogant Aggots who were so sure I was wrong a few months ago? Anyone care to revisit?
