Man that is a falsehood. Their lead rusher averaged 5.4 per carry and averaged 6.5 per catch out of the back field.
While your Ole Miss back averaged 5.8 rushing and 6.8 in passing.
Total falsehood.
State averaged 63.31 rushing yards per game in 2021 and 3.04 yards per rush.
Now, you say it's a "total falsehood" that they don't have a running game?
Are you okay, man?

But most importantly, y'all don't have multiple future all-pro players on defense (Chris Jones, JT Gray, Bernardrick McKinney).
This is the most ignorant comment I see.
You really backed your claim up with some insightful analysis.

I know plenty about Leach
He had a great year at Tech and a terrible one at Washington St

What is it with you and superlatives?
State had Bear Wilson, Fred Ross, Chad Bumphis, etc. back in the Mullinz years. I don't think you can state with certainty their WR room now is unquestionably better.

You don't get it though, just like Raheem Mostert was the best rb in the nfl last year. Just ignore his attempts please.

The best part was he favorably compared State's running game to Ole Miss's, when we finished 2nd in the conference and 11th nationally in YPG

State won't have to wait long to be ranked. I bet they'll be ranked if they win their first two games. If they win their first four, they'll probably be in the top 15. If they win their first five, then they'll probably be in the top ten.
Yep ... in 2014 they set a record for going from unranked to #1 in only 5 weeks ... Winning fixes everything

If you're willing to do the research and fact-check me, go for it, but I'm willing to bet that State has never had five 4-star WRs on their roster before.

You may be correct if we are measuring the talent of the WR room solely based on recruiting rankings.
Bear Wilson was a 3*, by the way, as was Makai Polk, who is one of two receivers in State's history history to have a 1,000 yard season, the other being Fred Ross, who was on the same team as Bear Wilson, which kind of proves my point in the first place

It’s really all we can compare now, we don’t have the luxury of knowing how the current receivers careers will play out.
ETA: also the best receiver on this team will likely be Walley, who was a 3 star. Recruit rankings aren’t perfect predictors, but they aren’t a craps shoot, either

HOw did State gets shafted against Memphis?
late in the game we downed(or touched the ball with intent ) a punt then started heading to the sideline ... Memphis picked the ball up and ran it into the endzone for a touchdown. One Ref called the play dead but never spoke up as the other refs didn't realize the play was dead ... I'm sure it's on you tube ... we lost by less than that one touchdown

LOL! It's great that you don't understand that system. Leach uses his backs in different ways that are effective.
I gave you the numbers of their Top RB vs yours. Deal with it. Just because they don't attempt as many as you think they should does not mean what you want it to mean.
quote:
Now, you say it's a "total falsehood" that they don't have a running game?
Like I said. Their top RB averages the same as yours.
Let's compare:
OM Ealy: Rushed for 768 yards with 5 TDs on the ground.
Ms St Johnson: Rushed for 485, 4 Tds.
Both backs averaged less than .5 yards per carry from each other.
But MS ST's RB has 2 times the amount of yards in passing from the back field.
Both backs coming out of the back field had less than 1000 yards total.
Again, you are attempting to say they can't run the ball but they use the passing to them as an extension.

So you want people to reach into the future and prove it that there are nfl guys on that defense.
Robert Chukwudumebi Nkemdiche.... did the highly touted first rounder just get cut again?
Get the point?
As a follow up. Here is from a Q & A released today:
quote:
Q: After every practice, NFL scouts are talking to you about your cornerbacks. What does that say about their development?
McBath: Honestly, I know the kids see it and they get excited about it. It is good for them to see because hard work pays off. What we're doing and how we do it translates to them for that next level.
Like I said... Their defense will be top 10. No less than top 15.
