I played against Leonard Fournette (an absolute man child) Speedy Noil (even though he didn't pan out, he was good af in high school) in the same year
Then the next year we played against Jerry Tillery and Christmas Giles, who were absolutely unblockable

Played with Robert Deshotel when he was a freshman and sophomore. Could tell he would be special.
Eddie Fuller ran me into the ground when I was a Freshman and he was a senior. His OL consisted of Kevin Mawae, Raymond Smoot. And they also had Vincent Fuller on that team.
Shannon Citizen hard to tackle because he was so shifty. He played with Marc Boutte, who was a beast.
But the best was Eddie Kennison. Even as a freshman he was just plain special

quote:The last football game I ever played in was against Thomson. I played for Mary Persons and y'all beat us in the playoffs in 1971. Back then Forsyth and Monroe County was even smaller than Thomson and McDuffie County. That was the 2nd year of total intergration. We had one of the best coaches ever in the state of Georgia, Dan Pitts. The first spring practice we had with the guys from the black school was just brutal. The first day they came over to our school in 2 busses, and by the end of it they were coming in 2 cars. lol 70 and 71 we were good enough to win our region, but lost in the first round of the playoffs both years. We lost to Statesboro that first year, and they absolutely killed us. We were better the next year but still lost to y'all by I think a couple of TDs. Seems like yesterday. Damn, I'm getting old.
Ray Guy and Chris Mohr we’re both mcduffie county products. We had Eddie Lee Ivey helping out too. For such a tiny little town in GA they produced a fair number of outstanding athletes. Luther Welch left my So year but I played for him for a year.

Didn’t play against anyone but was at speed camp in Jackson MS and got paired up w Deuce McAlister for 100 yd sprint when he was a junior at Ole Miss. I looked up and he was already 5-10 yds ahead of me, I peeled off at ab the 50 yd mark.

Le’Ron McClain was on my junior high and high school team. He played in a few Pro Bowls. Funny story is he actually wasn’t the most talented guy on the team. It was a guy named Titus Ryan, but he couldn’t make the grades to play college football.

Not exactly what you’re asking, but I played against Brandon Stokley, Kevin Faulk, and Lester Earl in basketball

I terrorized everyone equally while playing defense. It did not matter who the opposition was.

Played Louisiana 3A Football in the late 90’s.
Played against Josh Reed at Rayne. Dominick Davis at Breaux Bridge and Javon Walker at St. Thomas More. All played running back and I held my own but Davis stood out the most because he was a sophomore when I was a senior. He was a shifty little bastard. Walker was fast and strong.
Best players I personally played against.
Corey Jackson Cecilia
Ronnie McZeal Jennings
Lutha Harrison Abbeville
Chad Jasmine. St. James
Also there this RB from Bunkie in 94-95. He was skillet black prolly about 6-0 195. Hitting him was literally like running into a brick wall.

Played routinely against Charlie Ward (FSU/Heisman) and Eric Curry (Bama/ NFL) IN BASKETBALL ; I was a white shadow but didn’t play football. If I did I could go on and on because Deep South GA was a football mill in the 80s. Now not quite as much due to the population explosion of blacks in ATL over the past several decades.

Played against Eli Manning and watched from the sidelines as he put 40+ on our defense. Myself and the offense scored 31 but it was never going be enough sadly
