Do you want Clemson to join a real conference (SEC), or do you prefer to remain in the ACC with that easy schedule every season?
In other words, would you rather be a small fish in a big pond or a big fish in a small pond?

Clemson versus the SEC minus South Carolina:

61-132-10.

They want SEC, but won't say it out loud.

Clemson fans prefer a weak arse schedule. They take pride in it actually.

Most Clemson fans realize the ACC has no viable future, and the income discrepancy between members of the SEC/B1G and the ACC is only going to grow. Who knows what the final iteration of college football will be when this all shakes out, but for now it's about positioning yourself to be of the "haves", and that is with either the SEC or B1G. Yes, Clemson has historically faired poorly against the SEC, but hopefully recent success will make us an attractive option for one of the two super-conferences...GOR penalty to leave the ACC notwithstanding.

Now break down those games by home, away and neutral.

I think you'll find a large percentage of Clemson's games with the SEC were not played in Clemson.

I prefer Clemson to stay in the ACC because it has most of our long time rivals and it is a founding member.

I don't agree the ACC has an easy schedule most years.

The playoff commmittee seems to agree with my assessment.

Do you REALLY THINK the playoff committee isn't deliberately tilting their votes to spread the love to other conferences to keep from appearing biased? Do you honestly believe the ACC is equal to the SEC? Or is this something you tell yourself to feel better? The level of competition ISN'T CLOSE

They gave us the #1 seed the year with Kelly Bryant as starter and the loss to Syracuse who didn't finish the season strong.

a spreading the love approach would mean Clemson is no. 4 at best.

I think it changes year to year, some years the ACC has more depth than the SEC. The SEC is always overrated though. One example of this is Alabama having defeated Tenn 15 years in a row. That's absurd if the conference is as good as you claim.

Keep in mind, during Clemson's playoff years, they've played two SEC schools or U of SC and ND out of conference every season. A split in those games keeps them out of the playoffs.

Outside of 1 game where they scored 35 against Clemson, SC has been one of Clemson's easier wins during its playoff run and last year. SC typically looked much better against most SEC teams than Clemson those seasons.

it seems like in general, it is SEC fans who don't want any part of Clemson although they try to pretend it is about something else.

I'm sure I have a minority view on staying in the ACC compared to the CLemson fanbase, especially the Clemson fans who didnt attend the college.

I believe what the SEC is trying to do, and the Big 10 to a lesser extent, is a form of a cheating. They are rightly concerned an expanded playoff will make it easier for Coastal Carolina type of colleges to win a title, similar to baseball. Those non P5 schools would be able to recruit better with a feasible shot to make the playoffs.

I would like Clemson, Miami, Florida State, and Virginia Tech (or North Carolina) to come over - but if we are only taking two - Florida State and Miami so the SEC can have greater hooks in the talent rich state of Florida. But you know what - Nobody cares what I want

I love how the narrative has changed over the years...

There was a time when people used to say that because Clemson plays such and "easy" ACC Schedule, once they played SEC teams that had to "grind" through the tough SEC schedule they (Clemson) would get blasted because they were too soft.....

Well that didn't work out did it?

Now, after a few National Titles, several major bowl victories and multiple playoff appearances the new narrative is because Clemson plays a "weak" ACC Schedule, the players are more rested and not as worn down as those teams in the SEC that have to grind it out...

It's nice when you have all excuses covered...
