I had high hopes. And I still think he is a great football coach. I think he got bent over this off-season and has next to zero chance now to succeed though. I love his tenacity. I like how he is hard nosed. And mostly I love his frick you mentality if you don’t fit it, get out. I think he will do great things somewhere when given the reigns fully. But I don’t see any way he can do it here unless he wins 9 games minimum this year.

The issue with this notion that Harsin got bent over by the booster or PTB is we don’t know the entire story. Essentially what we heard via click bait articles was disgruntled coaches, players, and possibly some sexual misconduct in some form. If it was a report of misconduct the university had to take any allegation or rumor seriously. That’s just how the world works now. If it was player abuse complaint had to be investigated. Nothing was stated by anyone in the know even at a “sources” level. The university a few weeks later come out and made a statement that they did a full investigation and found no issues but didn’t say what the investigation was.

So to keep on that Harsin got screwed over in some way is nonsense. It’s the same everywhere if shite hits the fan the university is going to do an investigation. Same thing happened to Bruce but did everyone whine and bitch about it nope Bruce kept getting the job done.

Harsin was a horrible recruiter prior to whatever happened in the off season and is just barely a hair better now.

And with that said I don’t see a future at all for him possibly after this year but most definitely after next. He has made weird in game decisions and didn’t seem to hold the coaches accountable last year other then Corn and who knows what really went down there. All I know is the WRs couldn’t get on the field properly much less get lined up.

Anyway I will always want to win every game and hope we do the next 30 years. But this just feels like a short unenthusiastic 2-3 years then a complete rebuild.

First off, he’s not a lame duck. He can manage his way out of this the same way Tuberville managed his way out of Jetgate. If anything the scandal brought fan support to him for whatever reason. And the “mysterious reason” is probably because Auburn fans are conditioned to believe the PTB are evil thus if PTB has their sights against Harsin then Harsin must be some Donald Trump character draining their swamp or some shite.
