But in that case you are talking about one game. Here it is three games. Not a huge deal but still just another inconvenience for the road team. Kudos to Auburn for overcoming difficult odds to beat Oregon State.

Why do you think Auburn's football team travels to Montgomery for the night before the game? Fairly obvious, right? To get away from campus and the shenanigans, and get the players focus on the upcoming game. I imagine visiting teams also stay out of town. I'd also be willing to bet money, that even if rooms were available in Corvalis, Auburn still would have elected to stay in another town.
