Henry is the best RB in modern SEC history, accounting for offensive changes to the game.
Herschel and Bo did it in run heavy, play action offenses with defenses built to stop the run first.
I think Henry's size, speed and power would have had him do well in the 80s and 90s, too. But, different eras and styles make it an impossible conversation to look at objectively.
i started to buy into his argument until you made this (should have been obvious to me at my age) point. you definitely are right about run first offenses. however, there is a fair argument to be made about how much stronger and faster things have gotten and how much more dominant the SEC has been vs the timeframe of the other guys.
Bo Jackson was objectively the most talented athlete ever. I can't argue against him in earnest, but in terms of a solid argument i would say Henry deserves a top 5 spot. and that is saying something. i know it's crimson colored lenses only to bring up the saban era + shaun alexander, but i mean DAMN we have had some world class rbs.
