Miss state had a solid 1-2 punch at running back with Dicenzo Miller and Dontae Walker in 2000. I was pretty jealous of their offense that year. Unfortunately they had a piss poor defense. That team should have won the west.

Lost by 4 to top 25 Carolina, lost in OT to Arkansas and LSU
The 98-2000 MSU teams were so damn close to being really really great
