Question for the board. When you look at the current roster, who are some of these kids? I understand maybe a coaching relationship, a legacy, etc. But we have several kids I never even heard of us recruiting and they are are on the roster. Are they walk ons, how many is a team allowed? Im just curious.

There will be a lot, a lot of kids coming into the portal after spring and the window is only 15 days. We still have some needs, and definitely could also use some upgrades to the position even if they arent starters for some spots.

Seems like we have a lot of "space takers" on the roster.

The 85ish or however many guys on this roster aren’t really there as space takers. We’re still in the blue chip ratio where half of them are 4*+

All rosters have a combination of prospects and depth. Ultimately there’s 22 guys that start, rotational help, plus the special teams. But that’s almost always about half the roster no matter how good your program is. There’s only so much playing and practice rep time available to guys

Still, there should be a handful of guys from the roster that enter the portal. That’s more than enough to address the current needs. And I do expect that second half of the roster to improve a lot talent-wise under the new staff. Hell, Harsin didn’t even roll with a full roster
