KJ Britts brother was offered! 9th be at Oxford. Started last year on the d-line.
Says he was named a team captain as a freshman. That’s pretty impressive

General question for everyone: Thoughts on starting the ‘24 thread early? I usually wait until NSD but that signing period is pretty desolate nowadays and the previous transfer period has now ended
Pin next year’s but keep them both running until 2023 fades away. I hated pawl flooding the old threads with the following year stuff.

One of the sites mentioned On to Victory was having meetings with current players to discuss their NIL.
That should add a little fire to the spring. Some of these fellas may have had the speech "not only do you not get any money, your scholly may be gone when spring is over cause we have to make room".
More than a few need to shate or get off the pot, you wanted to make it a business, welcome to the business fellas its a two way street.

Anyone have an official list of early enrollee's outside of the portal guys? Trying to look what the spring roster will look like.
Only one I do know that is fall enrollee is Hank Brown.

Potentially 3* DB Will James from Theodore, AL. Otherwise, I don’t think so

Isn't Cobb signing then? I thought he was wanting to sign with his teammates and isn't coming in until the summer

Yep, already counting Cobb. He will announce, he may have signed already. I should say that Will James might be the only addition that’s not currently signed/committed

Freshman, I think the confusion is, he was starting last year as an eighth grader...on the defensive line. He said he had grown a lot the last couple years....there's an understatement

Marcus Harris' little brother is getting attention as well and he's really young.

JJ Evans to UNA
I knew a JJ Evans that played high school football at Montevallo High. Never heard of a JJ Evans at AU.
I'm just joking. I heard someone on a podcast once say "Is JJ Evans a real person".

Question for the board. When you look at the current roster, who are some of these kids? I understand maybe a coaching relationship, a legacy, etc. But we have several kids I never even heard of us recruiting and they are are on the roster. Are they walk ons, how many is a team allowed? Im just curious.
There will be a lot, a lot of kids coming into the portal after spring and the window is only 15 days. We still have some needs, and definitely could also use some upgrades to the position even if they arent starters for some spots.
Seems like we have a lot of "space takers" on the roster.

The 85ish or however many guys on this roster aren’t really there as space takers. We’re still in the blue chip ratio where half of them are 4*+
All rosters have a combination of prospects and depth. Ultimately there’s 22 guys that start, rotational help, plus the special teams. But that’s almost always about half the roster no matter how good your program is. There’s only so much playing and practice rep time available to guys
Still, there should be a handful of guys from the roster that enter the portal. That’s more than enough to address the current needs. And I do expect that second half of the roster to improve a lot talent-wise under the new staff. Hell, Harsin didn’t even roll with a full roster
