4* DB Michael Daugherty will be in town this weekend. KN reported that he’s hearing from the staff almost daily and that Joiner and Alston are also recruiting him hard

KN says he’s hearing Auburn is making up ground for 5* DT James Smith and 4* DL Russaw of Montgomery. Etheridge has been huge in both recruitments.

Still looks like Auburn will have a big junior day on March 19 but there’s not a lot of news on who’s gonna be there (although it sounds like Smith and Russaw might be there now).

Russaw and Smith will be on campus tomorrow, per 247 & Caldwell

Wasn't there a scoop released last night/this morning? Or was that more about spring ball and general stuff?

Just team stuff mostly, plus Auburn getting Hughley, Love, and Thurman on campus to Auburn over UGA this weekend.

It does sound like 4* CB Terrance Love was the guy on commit watch (we guessed this a few weeks ago) but he’s not ready yet.

KN says transfer WR Corey Rucker will visit Auburn this weekend. As a freshman for Arkansas State last season, he had 800+ yards and 9 TDs

Rucker seems like a must get to add to the WR room.

These good visits need to start producing commits. Hopefully the staff is building some momentum.

Quotes from recruits per KN & 247-

4* QB Christopher Vizzina

quote:

“They showed me everything I wanted to see,” Vizzina said. “I spent a lot of time with Coach (Bryan) Harsin and I loved practice. It was really cool. I got to stand with the QBs and go through their reads and watch their install in the QB meeting that morning. And, I just spent time with everybody. I got time to talk to some of my old friends like (Auburn quarterbacks) Robby Ashord and Sawyer (Pate) — just seeing how it is playing QB at AU. They had some great things to say. I really enjoyed it. It was awesome.”

3* DT Joshua Horton on Brumbaugh

quote:

“He’s teaching me right now,” Horton said. “Just different techniques. Everyone teaches something different. But he was teaching me things that work regardless of what the defensive assignment is. He actually cares about me, about how I’m doing as a person and as a player.”

4* S Michael Daugherty

quote:

There’s a lot of people that will just say things to you but they’ll just be a lot of empty words,” Daugherty said. “But today with (Director of Player Personnel Steven Ruzic), (secondary coach Zac Etheridge) and even Coach (Bryan) Harsin, there was a lot of action behind everything they did.”

4* CB Terrance Love

quote:

“It was probably an 11.” “It was a good experience,” Love explained. “I came down for the whole weekend.”

Said his parents loved it. Being an hour and a half from home is huge for him

5* DT James Smith

quote:

“I felt like I got to see what really happens at a practice — at a college practice,” Smith said. “It wasn’t so much their practice, it was their mindset.” He added later, “The attitude goes a long way. I’ve never heard a team say that. They want to change. They’re tired of losing. They want to win.”

Freshman All American WR transfer Cory Rucker

quote:

“The biggest thing is, come in, plug and play,” Rucker said of Auburn. "I got to see it first hand so I know exactly what they need and what they’re looking for in a receiver. And what they need to take this offense to the next level.”

4* OL Clay Wedin

quote:

“The other thing is Coach Harsin and his culture that he is instilling at Auburn is big,” Wedin said. “He has the mindset of go big or go home. They’re not going for a bowl game this year; they’re going for it all. That’s always great to hear. That’s what I’m going for. The people, I can see they’ve truly bought in to Coach Harsin and what he’s brought to Auburn. When somebody can buy into a place like that, that’s something special to see and be apart of. It’s really awesome to see.”

Also said Auburn is very high on his list of schools

4* RB Jeremiah Cobb

quote:

“It was amazing,” Cobb told Auburn Undercover. “One of my favorite visits. I got to meet the staff and hang around everyone up there. It was awesome.”

Said Auburn is really high on his list and he’s coming back again soon

Quotes from Caldwell and 247

5* QB Dante Moore

quote:

“I love the stadium,” Moore said. “Every time you come to that stadium you think of the Kick Six, the biggest play that probably happened in Auburn history. Coming back, viewing that play when you're stepping on the field is probably one of the biggest things. Coming back, talking to the coaches, doing the photoshoot, wearing the Under Armour brand is big, watching Cam Newton and all his trophies and Bo Jackson and everybody, just seeing all the Heismans trophies, it's a blessing that every kid wants to be a part of.”

Is Auburn in the mix to be one of those schools?

“For sure. I had to get back here and Auburn is for sure in the mix.”

4* OT Stanton Ramil

quote:

What was the message from Harsin, Coach Will Friend and the Tigers? “We need players like you to really take it to the next level,” Ramil said of Auburn’s message. “I think that’s 100 percent true. They need next-level players to get to the next level.”

“They’re up there for me,” Ramil said. “If I had a top five then they’re in my top five.

3* OT Connor Stroh

quote:

“They told me they really want me,” Stroh said. “I had a great talk with Coach Harsin and Coach (Will) Friend. They want bigger guys like me.”

“ They just shot up on my list,” Stroh said. “I will seriously be considering them in the future.”

4* DL TJ Searcy

quote:

“I had a great time during the visit,” Searcy said. “I would say one thing that stood out on the visit was Coach (Jimmy) Brumbaugh and the way he coaches, the way he breaks it down to all the players and makes sure they understand it.”

Picked up an auburn offer and said he’s been waiting on it.

4* Edge Jaquavious Russaw

quote:

“It’s definitely a big deal because you can come in and start right away,” he said. “They told me once Derick Hall leaves they’ll only have one more person and I’m good to go. “I see myself fitting in the defense, playing middle linebacker and how they use Derick Hall.”

Sounds like Auburn really made an impression on Russaw last weekend

5* WR Jalen Brown

quote:

“He’s a pretty good coach,” Brown said. “He’s a very humble coach. He knows what he’s talking about. He’s respectful. He’s a good leader. That’s somebody I could follow.”

With that comes the NFL experience, something that Brown said is important to consider for Auburn. “That’s a big factor,” Brown said. “He did basically what I’m trying to do now. He was a high school recruit and played in college and played in the NFL. Now he’s just giving back what he learned over the years to younger kids in coaching.”

I hope he walked away with a little more than "this is a cool stadium and it's also where Bo and Cam played football.".

As you might imagine, I didn’t copy and paste all of the quotes or the whole article. Just snippets that I found interesting.

One being that a kid from Detroit knew so much about Auburn football

Thats actually what impressed me, the kid obviously knows quite a bit about the program which is surprising. We forget Bo hasnt played in 40 years.

Maybe we have a chance, some kids want to get out of their environment....and it is Detroit.
