Appreciate the work and you doing it again Jones.
There's a guy I hope we offer who is local to me this year... Malik Leverett. He's only a 3* on 247, but they suck at covering this area. He was the 4th leading WR in Ga last year regardless of classification. He has a lot of offers right now, but none from the SEC.. Its only a matter of time though and it would be nice to be the 1st to offer him. He will be a mid 4 star after camps this summer imo.

Going to Ole Miss I think.
IF entered after FEb 1st he can't play in the fall.
The SEC has a rule that you have to enter the portal by Feb 1 if a player wants to play in the fall for another SEC team...

2023 Recruiting & Roster Thread

This is the year for Harsin and company. Tons of talent in areas of the country we traditionally recruit well in. We desperately need OL and DL and there's a bunch of them. I'd settle for a top 10 class that specifically addressed those two areas of need with a WR or two.

Recruiting by coaches will come far less important than NIL bucks in the coming years. Ask yourself,
Jimbo Fisher, without the help of his wife sleeping with players, has the all time highest recruiting class (before he signed a high high 4 star on signing day), by his charisma.
Citizen out of the blue picking Miami?
We better figure out this organization who will run our NIL soon, it wont be just blue chippers, but most players, along with all those on scholly, and if they arent paid, then why are they on scholly will be the question.
College football is now the NFL without a salary cap, nor multi year binding contracts, and it should have an organization to manage it as such, separate from a few coaches being recruiting coordinators.
What A&M did this year is the tip of the iceberg of what is to come, I dare say some of those same players will be shopping their wares in a year or two once the "new" benchmark of what to pay players is established, on an ever increasing scale.

Thanks for the hard work Jones. Looks like this is going to be an eventful recruiting thread. May be a big mess. Good luck.

Hopefully AU will grasp the NIL for what it is

A source also said Harsin hated the concept of name, image and likeness and made that clear to players. Harsin was particularly critical of players from low-income families who received money from NIL deals because he thought they lost their focus on football, one source added.

Was he planning on competing in the SEC with non-NIL players? Not very forward thinking if true.

I think almost all coaches hate NIL but that’s part of the job now. Gotta embrace it at this level

I always heard "decruiting" was as challenging as recruiting after you got them to campus. I think we are soon approaching the days when some of these recruits may earn more than their position coach.
So I am sure most coaches hate this. But the really successful ones will try and make it work with their program rather than put their heads in the sand.

Man that article explains a lot. Idk if Harsin is racist or not but I do know that the type of kids that are at Boise and here are different. We can talk all day long about about how those kids needed to leave anyway but those are most of the best players. You think Alabama or Georgia doesn’t have those players? You’re dreaming.
