What an absolute joke to not have Damone Clark included on the 1st, 2nd, OR 3rd team. Dude straight up led the NCAA in tackles this year and should have won the Butkus award.

it is really hard to make those teams when you are on a bad team yourself. If LSU beats UCLA, Auburn, and Ark and finishes 9-3, he probably makes it.

Doesn't change his draft stock, so it is what it is. He deserved it, but he's about to get paid in a few months and that will be better for him and his family.

The AP must read the Score Board on game days.

1st team offensive lineman from teams that are 7-5 and 6-6.
1st team All purpose player from a 7-5 team.
1st team TE from a 3-9 team.

2nd team RB's from a 6-6 and 5-7 team.

Boston College finished 6-6 and has two all american offensive lineman. They finished 12th in their conference in points scored.

Doesn't appear to be that hard.

Two of the three 3rd team linebackers went to Wyoming and Army, not exactly big-time successful, great seasons or programs.

Booger McFarland was an All-American defensive tackle for an LSU team that was 4-7, where almost all of the losses were on the defense (The offense had the 4th most points per game in LSU history up to that point).

Clark is getting screwed.

On the other side of that argument. Had Boutte stayed healthy and played the rest of the year on that level. He would’ve been biletnikoff award winner and 1st team All American with the same record.

To the educated tiger guy from Newport Beach...

Army is a great program. 3 National Championships, 3 Heismans.

Just because they have high standards doesn't mean that they can't have All-Americans. They are the BEST Americans.

Enjoy Newport Beach. I used to live there. Fun times.

The AP doesn't know shite. It's a crock of shite. Hell, Clark should have made it just on his last 5 games alone. He had 56 tackles and 5.5 sacks in just his last 5 games which included 4 ranked teams (Now #1 Bama, Arkansas, aTm and Ole Miss). Who even has come close to that kind of production against that type of competition? He had 2.5 sacks and 10 tackles in the upset against aTm in his last game. The dude was taking over games. He was phenomenal.

It's not the 1930's...by your logic, Minnesota is a CFB powerhouse.

Don't disagree. And Carter is a good player who had a very good year. But he isn't better than Clark, who had a better year.

I'm always appreciative of those who embrace their duty and serve this nation but attending a service academy doesn't entitle anyone to extra points for an AA list. The best players should be included and in this case, one of the best was not. It's dumb that we're even looking at who made 3rd team because at the very least Clark deserved to be on the 2nd team.
