I don’t disagree, but more tempo will lead to more turnovers… this team can overcome anything (including bad shooting) when it takes care of the ball and rebounds.
I’m ready for this team to get some rest… four days off before Thursday will be nice.

Shitty part is we are a final four team with last years AF.
We don’t have last year’s AF because of a scooter accident

Few things in my opinion. The 3 small guard lineup was a great at the end of the game and can be a lightly used if the 2’s and 3’s aren’t good drivers to the basket.
I wouldn’t call Cambridge a Rodman rebounder but he has accepted rebounding as a part of his role. Problem is on offense our 1’s 2’s and 3’s leak out when we shoot so the other team doesn’t get into transition. So I Jabari takes a 3 then only Kessler is down to rebound. It’s just how Bruce does it.
At this point at the 3 I see no reason why you can’t just go every 2-3 minutes a rotation of Flanigan, Cambridge, C-Mo, and Lior. You can’t go long minutes with Lior if the other teams 3 is a scorer but at least you have to guard Lior on the outside. C-Mo is a better 3 point shooter then both Cambridge and Flanigan and obviously they all have different movements and tendencies therefore making the other team prepare just a little more on short turnarounds in the tourney. Only downside at this point is if Lior or C-Mo just are fouling to much getting into the bonus early in halves

This and the defense would be my concerns but I’m kind of with you that a guy like CMo could probably use a few minutes and even if Lior is out for 2-3 he’s still going to force a team to stay spread to open a lane. Might could even throw some zone at teams with them in.

At this point it is what it is… pearl has his 9 guys that he’s gonna play, outside of foul trouble or injury.
I love Lior, but he just doesn’t have the athleticism to play real minutes at this level.

He would probably on get 2 rotations in for a couple minutes each. So 4 minutes a game. I think you gain those 4 minutes of lack of ability by the other team having to worry where he is on the offensive end in preparation.
But with that said I’m so happy for the team. Win Saturday and it’s a great season no matter what happens going forward.
And yes I want to win more championships

I’m so curious about what we do with the roster next year.

Just curious but not assuming we lose to South Carolina…
Does the banner say regular season conference champions or
“…Co- Champions.”

I believe the 2018 title we shared with Tennessee says champions.

Yes, all three schools will have a championship banner.
But, I think we take care of business Saturday.

I think we can retire this myth. He had a couple of good shooting games his freshman year which gave him the "streaky" label ever since. Truth is he's a bad shooter with an UGLY shot. He also just so happens to be probably the most athletic guy on the team.
I think Cambridge is at his best helping this team out by rebounding and slashing to the basket. And he definitely has an ugly looking shot. But he was 100% a "streaky" shooter as a Sophomore last year. He had 6 games last year where he made 3+ 3 pointers in a game with a 3FG % of 33.3% or better. That is nearly 25% of our games last year where he was very serviceable as a shooter. His percentage was so poor last year, because he also had a few games where he went 1-9, 2-8, and 1-10 from 3. He has 0 games this year where he has 3+ 3 pointers.
On a separate note, I do think it is time that we start looking to get C Mo more minutes. His shot isn't nearly as ugly as Devan's or Flans and he hustles and could be a contributor on the boards. Is he that bad defensively, or is Bruce just trying to give Flanigan every last chance possible to turn this around?
Edit: And just looking further into Cambridge's stats for the season. Starting with the Uconn game he went 7 straight games making at least 1 three and shooting 33% or better. In those games he shot 50%, 50%, 40%, 33%, 33%, 67%, and 100% from 3. Since that streak ended (starting with the Saint Louis game on the road) he has only made 6 three pointers in 19 games. This is truly just the worst stretch of shooting for him in his career.

Flanigan is toast this year I think. I haven’t seen an Auburn athlete look so timid and scared to make a mistake since Jeremy Johnson threw a pass backwards

Is Lior that much of a liability? Flan plays good D but is a huge dead zone on offense? Lior can actually shoot. We were also at our best when we had a full bench. We ran teams off the floor. Our intensity never stopped. We now play less players and every other team has played themselves into shape. Our advantage is gone. Y’all say to run more. We do that every chance we get and are good. The issue is when we can’t run.

Bruce Pearl quick notes by Brian Stultz of Auburn Rivals:
Bruce Pearl is here to speak with us after last night's win against Mississippi State.
- A lot of change since last time Auburn played South Carolina. They are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. Won 5 of last 6. 4-4 on road.
- Tigers played well on road against Gamecocks earlier this year. Forced 20 turnovers last time.
- Our offense in half-court continues to be challenging. Scouting reports are out and everyone is struggling a little bit in half-court offense.
- Be a challenge for the guards to guard their guards.
- Really pleased with last night's outcome. Only previous loss by MSU at home in SEC was to Tennessee. Big game for both teams last night.
- Auburn is playing for two things now: a No. 1 seed and an outright title.
- On Kessler: "He got clipped pretty good in the Tennessee game. It was a common foul. He got hit twice. It was chippy at best. He did suffer an injury to his shoulder but, he's got the brace on it and he's working through it."
- On 3-guard lineup: "When you lose a 19-point lead, as a coach you do kind of throw things up in the air and see what sails." Says he felt things needed to be shaken up a bit, turned the ball over too much in 2nd half.
- "I don't know the specifics. I'm sure there is. But honestly I have been on South Carolina so hard." - On SEC title celebration. Marlene, the SID, chimes in and says there will be something.
- On Jaylin: "He just doesn't have enough opportunity because he is playing behind Jabari." Mentions against South Carolina the first time, Jaylin had 18 because Jabari picked up two early fouls. "He's playing behind the best player on the floor every night."
- On Flanigan: "He's still not 100 percent from recovering from his injury."
- Mentions team shot better on Wednesday but rebounding, obviously, is still a concern.
- Pearl won't comment anymore on Kessler injury. And on tie-breaking scenario, Pearl isn't sure. "Kind of shows you what I have been working on this morning. I'm not working on celebrations and not working on scenarios. Been trying to figure out how to guard South Carolina."
- Says this team has been great to coach. They all get along. They work well together. Had to work them hard extremely early. Team has been locked and loaded.
- On honoring Preston and Chase, two seniors, on Saturday: "Preston is a local boy who has helped on scout team. Helps get team prepared. He would probably play a lot if he was at a mid-major program"
- On Chase: "He's our spiritual leader. He's an old soul. He's engaged to be married. He's a great student. He's already begun his own business ... He's a student minister. He leads us in bible story. Just a wonderful, wonderful young man."
- "It will be at all-cost. We are trying to win this game. Seeding matters. The NCAA Tournament seeding matters. The SEC Tournament seeding matters."
- Says South Carolina is a signature win against Auburn and a win or two in SEC Tourney from maybe making NCAA Tournament.
- On if improving on last-second shot needed: "Yeah , it probably is. If Jabari was the point guard, it would be a lot easier to get him the ball for the last shot."
- Wendell's five steals, two in overtimes: "He's a great competitor and I trust him. He's physically undersized ... but there's been a lot of games where putting the ball in his hands has been a good thing." Mentions he got a little banged up in practice earlier this week and in the game last night.
That's it for Bruce Pearl today.

Auburn 3-pt shooting in SEC play
Zep Jasper: 13/31 (42%)
Jabari Smith: 38/98 (38%)
KD Johnson: 20/67 (29%)
Wendell Green: 23/98 (27%)
Jaylin Williams: 5/20 (25%)
Walker Kessler: 4/18 (22%)
Allen Flanigan: 7/32 (21%)
Devan Cambridge: 5/34 (14%)
@skyeunderwood tweeted this.
2 notes:
1. Guess Jasper should shoot more
2. Almost every single person on this list is a better 3 point shooter than their SEC play percentage. Gotta take smarter threes though (especially Wen and KD)

We also have to consider we are above average to sometimes good offense and very good to elite defense. It’s just who this team is. And now it doesn’t matter if you win 86-84 or 66-64 just as long as you win.

The MSU game(3 of 6) And the Ole Miss (5 of 7) game, Zep shot more and produced buckets.
I’d rather take the first open look after a paint touch or ball reversal, and Zep can be part of that sequence.
So many possessions we just dribble into a 3 or never touch paint or switch sides of the court.
These guys got 20 in an OT so the skills are there. Just have to value the ball more and get better looks on each possession.
