Too Early Predictions

Since there isn’t much buzz in the mainstream about AU football- meaning we aren’t in any preseason top 25s and aren’t getting much discussion, I would like to see us fight about it here.
Sure there are the compulsive 12-0 or bust crowd.
There will be the doom and gloom crowd that derives pleasure from pain.
There will be the I hate freeze crowd. The I hated Gus crowd, the I hate_____ crowd.
Realistically speaking- all crap and rose colored glasses aside- what will the 2024 season produce?
Do we win the first five?
Do we upset anyone?
Does anyone upset us?
What are you looking forward to?
What disappointment are you anticipating?
Does Thorne keep his job?
Will we have any d-line standouts?
Will the WRs get the 1:1 we need for RPO to work?

Do we win the first five? We should be 4-0 going into Oklahoma. It'll be an electric night game at JHS. 4-1 is very probably. We'd get some buzz going into UGA where our hopes are dashed.
Do we upset anyone? Depends on if you count Kentucky, Missouri, A&M as upsets. good chance to win all or none of those. Bama is possible if its an actual dumpster fire now. Low chance against UGA.
Does anyone upset us? Yes. Any team could, New Mexico, UL Monroe
What are you looking forward to? New stud WRs and Bama's decline
What disappointment are you anticipating? 7-wins being called improvement.
Does Thorne keep his job? Yeah the WRs should make him looks pretty good.
Will we have any d-line standouts? Probably not.
Will the WRs get the 1:1 we need for RPO to work? Whoever the 2nd best guy is will probably get those 1 on 1s in game. The best guy will require double teams to stop.
What say you all? I'm hoping for 10+ wins, but expecting 6 or 7 again cause QB is so important.

I think Faulk takes a big leap this year

This was tough because I’m really far out of thinking about football.
First 5 - I think so
Upset anyone - yes, almost always. Freeze has been good at that
Upset us? - yes, Freeze is also good at that
Biggest disappointment? The offense. I think we’re so far behind there. The OC change to me indicates Freeze thought we made no progress there last year and as a fan I’d agree. I don’t think our QBs are good, but I think Hank or White could be in the future
Looking forward to? Offensive identity or any team identity overall. I give all coaches a few years to figure it out, lord knows I’ve needed time professionally to work things out. But the clock is ticking and coordinator resets give me the runs

I still am at a point where I want a lot and expect very little. This is fandom hell, even if it’s an upper tier of hell. I’m optimistic still, but our streak of ineptitude and the college landscape deteriorating has me in a bind.

Heck I wouldnt be surprised if they all got in the rotation this fall. If we are paying they ought to be playing, forget the redshirt days gone by eh.
You know Smurph, regarding the interior DL, Pink brought up a good point in a podcast a few weeks ago. You have gotten a couple of rotational one and done guys in the portal. But what you probably need now are a couple of guys with two years. Otherwise next fall you may have some studs (the 25 class is looking great) but to ask them to start on the interior line is a heck of a task.
We will see, but to bet the fall season on what we have now on the interior, particularly if you look at the production last year, we might as well put interstate signs versus jerseys.
Good news is Freeze brought that up when discussing the portal, obviously the top priority.
