However, I think most people forget how bad Rod sounded when he took over for Fyfe.
I heard that same thing early on when I said I didn’t like Andy in football.
I’ve had enough time to know that Andy isn’t going to grow on me and I do not like his football gig. He’s a great dude and I don’t mind him and Sonny but I’m not into his football delivery at all.

Is there any way we could actually get a change? I don’t want to listen to Andy for the next 20 years.

I've never liked his football play calling but I think he does fine with basketball. If history holds, he will be our play-by-play guy until his demise.
As for Zack Blackeby, he wouldn't even be on my list of third-string backup play callers.

Different strokes for different folks I guess. I like his voice, which is the reason why I suggested it. It’s got a very “announcer“ quality to it.

his voice is perfectly suited for the job. He’s a good interviewer, has a good insight understanding of the game, he’s young and excitable.

Independently of anyone else, Andy is a fine announcer.
For state level HS games.
Fyffe and Bramblett are hard acts to follow. Andy puts in the work, I get it, but he's not them. Not to their level. And unfortunately, never will be.

We need to do the lsu route, conduct a national search and grab the best voice we can.

Agree on the burcham for some things, the upset about bad calls being extended, the missed yard markers, the not painting a good picture of what's going on. No to Blackerby, it's just not his avenue.

How much money does Auburn sports radio actually make? Surely enough to where they are willing to have a difficult conversation with Andy to make that much more.
I don’t listen solely because he is hard to listen to.

Not sure the PTB have a problem with him. I cannot listen to him with the calls. I don't even like him in baseball. There has to be somebody who is better out there. I like the guy who does both FSU & Bucs games. Worked with his nephew. He is pretty smooth. We need someone who has a great voice & can paint those pictures.

It would be interesting to understand the revenues from radio, BUT would it change much if we had a different voice? Back in the day when only a few games were on TV, you needed a personality, Larry Munson, John Ward, Jack Cristi, and Jim Fyffe.
If you are older, you should be able to match the Radio guy to the school. I have no idea who does UGA, Florid, LSU, etc. broadcast now.
Listening to games on SXM, the sports world is full of terrible announcing.
Rob Bramblett (RIP) did a great job also.

Brad Law should be the next guy. I think Andy is fine for Basketball/Baseball but isn’t great at football.

He does have a good voice. Does he do any play by play?

He splits primary caller with Andy on Baseball games. 1 does 1/2 the game and the other does the other 1/2

I do however still like him better than the TV guys, but it's just barely edging them.

Not sure about Zac but yeah I can’t stand Andy’s voice for football. It took a few years for Rod to grow on me and I still can’t believe he’s gone.

Andy has a much better voice. I like Zac but he has too many hot takes and a lisp.
