I do agree, though, that the longer it takes from today the less likely the fans here will be happy with the hire. Needs to happen sooner than later

It’s obvious there would be lots of pushback for Freeze. All it took was one simple poll of fans.
What was not obvious was Cohen actually listening to the pushback and making a decision not to hire him based on the pushback.

Again the push back could be absolutely nothing. What if auburn had no intention of hiring freeze? I know Rane apparently liked him but didn't some other board members not care for him. Cohen probably wasn't a big fan either I assume. The hire freeze was all media talk. Even Marshall said no way it would be freeze. It was probably just kiffin and no real second choice. Now they are scrambling.

If Cohen really had no second choice lined up then he is very, very bad at his job. I thought he was supposed to be methodical and detailed. That’s not how a detail oriented business man operates.

If Freeze was going to be the guy he would have just been hired.
The fact that it was leaked very early and then just left to sit there under radio silence highly suggests to me that it was leaked by Cohen himself... because that's not who he wants to hire.
This is a Roberts and Cohen hire. I do not imagine either of those two seriously wanting to hire Freeze. This has been a strong sentiment from the very beginning of this search.

I'm hearing with the strong pushback on freeze, we are looking to offer kiffin a much better deal to come to Auburn. Things are complicated and kiffin is asking for alot more because of how hard he came out against coming to auburn.
