Ahh, wasn't aware. Not sure that's really a trustworthy choice for backup center, but I guess we'll see.

I was mistaken I thought Abidi was like 6’1”. Good to see Bruce is starting to lean on the length at the guard spots. However I guess both being 6’7” they would be wing guards playing the 2/3 spots.

I assume Magwood will move to true PG at AU behind Denver and Pettiford. With all 3 playing some minutes at the 2. That’s with the assumption that Denver returns for the Juco rule. Same with CBM. They should be able to make more at AU than the G-League or overseas. But donors have to step up on the basketball side to hold all these guys next season. Still need a shot blocking Big as well. Probably need a 4 with some experience to go along with freshman Williams-Adams.

Denver's sister said on X that he does have another season. We will see.

Can’t remember who said it but I think it was Jason Caldwell… said he thinks we need 3 transfer Bigs. 2 centers and 1 PF.

It’s hard to keep up with the basketball roster. Especially until the end of the season.

Caldwell did say it should be easy to find a transfer Center with the success we have had with 2 straight All-Americans

For me it’s Jay Wright and Jim Calhoun for our era.

This is what I figure we need. Given it is a wide open starting spot for a top 10 team, getting the center and PF should be fairly easy as long as we are competitive with NIL, but that's the tricky part these days.

Getting a good back up center might be more difficult, but it's much needed.

I present my candidate for backup center.

This guy will do well on our all TROLL team.

He is a menace and someone you'd hire to be your bodyguard.

He too can probably lock down Larry Bird

And this is where it gets enticing..

(stockgumshoe)

wait for it.....

....

He used to be committed to Auburn and grew up in Georgia.

and probably loves him some Bruceypoo.

This mofo is putting in hard work on someone else's dime right now but only averaging 1 ppg.

Make it happen.

Volume all the way up!!!

Do the OGs concur!

I think his potential there is higher than basketball. Thank goodness we didn’t get stuck with him. I’m sure Bruce had a diet plan he needed to be on prior to committing. More then likely one of the reasons he’s not here

I would expect us to be a contender for any big time centers for this exact reason

I hope so. Our defense funnels players to the shot blockers. So we really need a PF and a C that are shot blockers.

Will say some are saying Chaney can come back. So D2 players get extra time as well????

frick it if I were a player I’d just keep playing and getting NIL and take the NCAA to court using the Covid players plus any thing else to get more eligibility. Probably make more playing basketball in college then anything they’ll make with their degree per year

Hadn't heard that one, seems impossible to start granting DII players extra eligibility but who knows, it's too hard to follow all these rulings. Wasn't the Pavia ruling granting players next season that played at "non NCAA schools" like JUCO?

Anyway, he played 3 yrs at UAH, I thought he was able to get his 5th yr this season due to his initial enrollment was covid year.

That's a rabbit hole I'm not going down trying to figure out what the NCAA is allowing and what they are still fighting against.

Right, they either don't have the power or the will to fight these battles. If i was Chaney I'd at least make them say no.

I'm more than confident that the staff is on top of all these rules, regulations and waivers. I can't imagine with the impending roster turnover, that if there is a possibility to retain Denver, CBM and Chaney, that they would do everything they could to bring them back. I would be thrilled to have each of them back on the roster if that is possible.

Don’t know of any rule or court case that would give Chaney another year. I don’t think he will be back. CBM and Denver should seemingly get the benefit of the Pavia rule.

Sure but there was no pavia rule until he made it one. It can be the Chaney rule

That’s a good one Third.

For me the best team I ever saw was the 89-90 and 90-91 UNLV team.
