Pretty amazing what this staff has put together so quickly after the FF run.
I would agree…but just a week and a half ago…

Until the staff proves otherwise, I’ll give them the benefit of the doubt and continue to sit, smile and love what off season excitement Bruce brings.

Makes a lot of sense to fill the Cardwell role while the JUCO guy develops.

Whoever gets him is likely paying us close to $1million, on top of whatever they promise him. UK is spending like crazy this year but eventually they have to run out of money, right? Arkansas could still be a threat. Don’t see OM ponying up to pay.

Not sure if it made it here but trilly made a post basically saying if CBM didn’t have the reputation he has he would probably get the $3million he’s asking for. But said there’s a difference in being crazy and everyone knowing it.

If he wants to ruin his legacy by going to another SEC school go for it I guess. It would certainly be a shame.

I wish Chad the best. But he doesn’t scare me on another team.

Plus I think we will have a solid roster next season but a lot has to come together perfectly to be a really good team. From the roster currently looks like we are about. 7 seed going in to the tournament next season. If things mesh well and everyone plays their role maybe a 4/5 seed.

The thing that sucks is there are occasions where more money isn’t the best thing for you. This is the situation with Chad.

I don’t say this often, but I think Chad leaving is a mistake and one he may end up regretting later in life.

Spot on. I was the biggest CBM defender this year, but I can’t really see a path to him coming back. It’s one thing for a guy to test the waters, it’s another when that guy does it after already agreeing and signing a deal with his current team whose HC went to bat for him time and time again when the vast majority of coaches would have sent him packing.

He cost us a tournament run last year and was a turnover machine and rebounding liability this year. Also was likely the reason we lost to our in state rival at home in OT. Hell of a legacy.

You're an idiot. I'll give you last year's but he was demonstrably our second leading scorer both years he was here and a key part of our F4 run. Two things can be true his behavior is why we couldn't pay him more but he was still a valued contributor that helped us win many games so a net loss to our team

He had some good games like at UK, at Bama, vs UF in Final 4, but he almost cost us vs Arky at home with a dumb tech, he flat out disappeared vs ATM on the road with Denver out, O would say best players on the team were, Broome, Denver/Pet, Cardwell (D), then CBM, Kelly and Chaney.

I dont doubt that Denver was the second best on our team for his defense and PG contributions but CBM was easily the third best player on our team. He was efficient on offense and he could disrupt other teams in the full court press. He led the whole team in steals by a good bit! He was 4th in blocks as well. 46 steals, 23 blocks and he could hit FTs.

He was a great player for us.

I would say CBM has been our second best player behind Broome the last two years. Injuries restricted him some down the stretch this season but his impact on the game is going to be very hard to replace. Just a highly efficient, good basketball player. Not to mention the mind voodoo he inflicted on other teams players. (He was also a victim of his own mind games at times too)

I've seen Illinois mentioned as the most likely spot for CBM.

CBM was an awesome player and he will be missed. Can't believe how many on this board wished him away. That said, frick him if he transfers across the conference.

Now that he's transferred.

In the olden days you built a long lasting career by performing well at school. Many a player parlayed 4 years into a long lasting job. They've wanted the quick money, so to hell with remembering if they did better here or elsewhere, it's not like it's anything but paycheck.

So I'm fine if his very best was here and not elsewhere.

It is a different world in college sports now. Dylan and Chris Moore are likely the last 4+ year players we will see at Auburn. I said on here a while back that Dylan was the last of an era and that we should really appreciate him. Playing for a school/program is pretty much a thing of the past now.

The portal closes for basketball tonight. Granted grad transfers can basically do whatever they want. So any pieces we add going forward are probably in the portal currently.

Guess we could add a 4/5 type. And guess we would scramble if Tahaad stays in the draft. However I think Hall could play some point forward in dire needs.

For me personally as far as fans during their playing time Dylan is the most beloved Auburn athlete since Bo Jackson. That is saying a lot when you consider Caddy and the many other football superstars we have had. If Cam would have been a 3 year guy obviously he would be up there but longevity but student/player interaction Dylan blows all away.

And I mentioned 2 statues need too go up from this past seasons team. Broome the great AU basketball player and Dylan the epitome of AU athlete. If not a statue a very prestigious award that can cross all sports in his name and one that stands for 75-100 years.
