On my TV it looked like Kessler and Jabari at the very minimum were playing a good bit further off in the 2nd half. Kessler didn't even try to block shots because he was scared of the whistle. It was definitely a factor in Castleton's big 2nd half.

Edit: I also think it's kind of a good thing this happened because we need to learn to play like that. With SEC refs it's going to happen again

We’ve played two good back to the basket bigs and both have fared very well against us. I’m not super worried about it though. There aren’t many of those around the league or nationally. Timme would give us trouble but he gives everyone trouble. We would cause some issues for Gonzaga as well

And still beat them by 12

It’s about finding a way to win and guys stepping up when others are limited due to the match up. This team looks to be able to do that.

Yeah Timme is another guy that’s elite that will have success against anyone, but I think if we end up facing the Zags that we can speed them up to the point they’re uncomfortable even though they like to run. Bama had them in a blender.

There definitely some phantom calls on Jabari and Walker that allows Fla’s big man to score some easy baskets.

Yeah this is how the refs kept FL in it. The refs put our two best bigs and maybe players on the bench with phantom fouls.

One of my favorite things about this team is the depth. We don’t need everyone to be a killer every night to win.

Usually need 3 or so guys to carry the team and those three seem to be different every night.

It allows a player either due to a matchup or off night have a mediocre game and the other guys step up and get the win.

KD had a mediocre game against USC but was a key in beating UF. Kessler was huge in the last few games but due to foul trouble and matchups could not dominate the paint like usual but other guys stepped up.

This is fun to watch.

We just scored 85 against a damn good defensive team in a game that had no flow at all. Frustrating to watch but Auburn was the better team.

It’s all about growing and seeing how you handle it. Next up is a good team on the road with very good guard play and a decent big. Good team on the road being the big factor. Add in the rivalry and it sounds like a good challenge for this Auburn team.

Question: Wendell seems to make just about all of his deep 3 attempts. I feel like his percentage from deep has to be better than his actual 3-pt percentage? I can only think of one or two deeps that he's missed this season. It's insane.

EDIT: Moved up to #2 on CBS's top 25 and 1 list. We've got a really tough week coming up though.

Yep and maybe Kessler and Smith being put on the bench for long stretches was a blessing in disguise. Kessler gets a less minutes headed into a quicker turnaround game and other guys got an opportunity to step it up. Thought Cardwell did a good job last night. Flan, KD and Wendell all hit some big shots for us when needed.

Since we are still celebrating and haven’t moved to really locking in on Bama.

The question of the day has to be after KD’s big night what happens against Georgia? Does KD hit Tom Crean with a D-X suck it? Or does he go out and get zero techs?

You might be right. UF’s legs were gone the last 5 minutes of the game. I’m not sure they hit a deep shot in the final 5. And we have a very quick turnaround. Bruce post game said today would be off or a light day. He said this was the first game that the “grind” seemed to affect the team.

Lunardi currently has us as a 1 seed.

Does it really matter? No.

Is it fricking awesome seeing it? Yeah.

Will be a 1 on Bracket Matrix too. 6 or 5 in polls at least. Good spot that ensures a Tuesday loss doesn't hurt much. Most of it is just fun polls/stats stuff for us to enjoy, but a 1 seed would be nice.

It still makes me happy daily that we’re even talked about in basketball being in the tourney. Being a 3-5 seed even is nuts to me with what we’ve been through as auburn basketball fans.

I clearly remember being bribed with .25 cent hotdogs to watch late Cliff era teams get destroyed.

They sure loved calling fouls on our guys Saturday night, felt like Florida wasn't getting the same calls on them
