When I was in HS, Milton set a state record for consecutive losses in Football.

I knew a couple girls who went there.

My wife and I only moved to Milton in 2014. We lived in Marietta before moving here. Public schools are good enough to avoid paying for private school!!! Plus a heck of a lot more land for your $ here as opposed to East Cobb.

I wasn't knocking Milton. I live about 10 minutes from there.

Was pointing out my geriatric state.

HS Football has improved, talent wise, in this area so much. I can remember years when maybe 2-3 Gwinnett County kids would get big offers.

Now it's 20-30, and South Georgia only dominates the smaller classifications.

https://www.seccountry.com/auburn/new-linebackers-coach-has-auburn-in-good-shape-with-top-rated-ilb

quote:

Linebackers coach Travis Williams has been instrumental in keeping Auburn in the fold for the top-rated inside linebacker in the country.

The former defensive analyst lured Nate McBride to the Plains over the weekend for an unofficial visit and aims to carry that recruiting momentum into next February.

“He stayed with me the whole time,” said McBride, the No. 1 inside linebacker in 2017 and the No. 4 overall prospect in the state of Georgia. The Vidalia, Ga., native was just one of two recruits to visit Auburn over the weekend.

“(Williams) talked to my parents some, too, just about all the different aspects of Auburn. He basically stressed that he’s going to give it to me straight forward. He said that they needed a linebacker and I was the one. He said he isn’t going to stop until I said no … or yes.”

McBride, who has long been considered a Georgia lean, conceded after his visit that Auburn was seemingly out of the picture before Williams was elevated to linebackers coach in January. Williams, a former linebacker for the Tigers from 2001-05, visited McBride last month at Vidalia Comprehensive. The trip paid dividends for Auburn and the first-year coach, as both sides have remained in continuous contact since.

“They really, really, really impressed me today,” McBride said of his visit. “I know I’m on a high right now. I mean, they weren’t in my top five before Coach Williams came because I had just got from Alabama (last spring) and went to Auburn the next day and all I got to see was the stadium and practice, which was good because they played with a high intensity the whole time. Coming here showed me a lot more of what I needed to see and what I wanted to see.”

KN has good feature up on all the players AU offered over February. The position I am interested in seeing who we lock in on as our top realistic CB options. There are some good ones in GA this year so hoping we can get at least 2

Cough... No.. Colquitt County says hello Class AAAAAA Champions for the last two years. They also went deep in the playoffs the year prior.

Back when there were only 5 classifications champions were.
Camden 2003
Lowndes in 2004, 2005, 2007
Camden in 2008, 2009

Considering the few number of schools in the highest classification compared to the Greater Atlanta area, South Georgia has been more than respectable.

We're recruiting Obinna Eze pretty hard right now. He's a 6'8, 270lb OT.

Summary: He's from Africa, visited last Saturday, likes Hand. Has a connection with Tega. He has picked up about 10 offers so far this year

We've also offered OLB Jacob Phillips out of Nashville. HE was here last weekend as well. Also receiving a ton of offers lately (A&M, Oklahoma, UT, OM).

By UT do you mean Tennessee? I always view UT as Texas which only magnifies given AM and OU on that list

Tennessee is not UT.

Messing with Texas is not wise.
