Based on the last picture I saw of Buggs, it looks like he would move inside next year. He looked big.

quote:I kind of hope he becomes the blueprint for what we want in a slot receiver. Have him run routes, as well as using him in that speed sweep role. He could be an insanely dangerous match up problem for any defense
We may want/like Stove more in a receiver role than what he is doing now
Edit: spelling

KN reporting we have offered the #2 sack leader in JUCO 3* DE Markel Winters. He's currently an Ole Miss commit. We are recruiting him for the Buck position. KN says Markaviest Bryant is still the top target
I expect more names like this to pop up in the coming months

They did it with Stefon Diggs. I'm still pissed about that one.

Diggs was connected to Maryland his entire recruitment and the situation was different. Diggs grew up in Maryland, loved being hometown hero in front of friends/family and his primary recruiter was Mike Locksley
Ashley only seemed somewhat on the fence when coaching staff firings were rumored and our OL looked awful

It's like stacking a Pop Warner team with the kids of former NFL players.

4* LB Chandler Wooten earns his 4th star
Looks like Markaviest Bryant & Tyler Taylor also moved up some
quote:
Chandler Wooten went up. So did Carlito Gonzalez.
Meantime, Tray Bishop held steady.
That's how things shook out for the Auburn commits in the updated state-of-Georgia ratings from 247Sports, released Friday.
Wooten, a linebacker from Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb, jumped from an 86 to a 90, making him a 4-star. He's now the No. 28 recruit in the state. He'll have a chance to showcase his talents in the Under Armour All-American Game.
Gonzalez, a safety at Stone Mountain Stephenson, went up from an 87 to an 89 putting him just below the 4-star line. With that bump, Gonzalez jumped to No. 34 in the state.
Bishop, a quarterback/athlete commit at Terrell County, remained a 94. He's the No. 10 recruit (down from No. 9 because of Xavier McKinney's rise) in the state and No. 97 recruit nationally.
247Sports has consistently rated the Army All-American higher than the industry. He's No. 149 in the 247Sports Composite.

AU Class Snapshot
quote:
Class snapshot
This will now be included in every Friday notebook. It’s a way to keep the casual reader up to speed on how Auburn stands during the current recruiting cycle. There has been some shifting this week for the Tigers, since they picked up a commitment from 4-star linebacker KJ Britt.
Class rank
Auburn now finds itself in 12th nationally, which is up three slots from where it was before the most recent addition. The Tigers are now sixth in the SEC behind Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Auburn has the ability to catch Tennessee and A&M depending on how the season finishes up, but tracking down the top three won’t be likely.
Top recruits
Auburn’s 15 commitments fill a bunch of needs for the Tigers. They are all having successful senior seasons. But here are the top 5, in my mind, based on rankings and performance. Again, there are varying opinions on who the top players in the class are (no order), and a lot can change between now, Signing Day and when they finally take the field for Auburn.
5-star offensive tackle Calvin Ashley
4-star running back Devan Barrett
4-star linebacker Tadarian Moultry
4-star linebacker KJ Britt
4-star athlete Tray Bishop
New commitments, new de-commitments
Auburn has landed two prospects in the last two weeks. The first came in the 2018 cycle, as running back Shaun Shivers picked the Tigers. The other was Britt, who was just listed in the top-5 players for Auburn. Britt is mega-talented on the field, but his off-field persona also is a big reason why he cracks that top 5. The Tigers have lacked momentum since losing to Texas A&M. It looks like Auburn is finally trending back the other direction.
Breakdown by position
Quarterback (1): Tray Bishop
Running back (3): Devan Barrett, Alaric Williams, Octavius Matthews
Offensive line (3): Calvin Ashley, Nick Brahms, Austin Troxell
Linebacker (3): Tadarian Moultry, KJ Britt, Chandler Wooten
Cornerback (1): Malcolm Askew
Safety (2): Jordyn Peters, Carlito Gonzalez
Long snapper (1): Bill Taylor
Kicker (1): Anders Carlson
Geographical breakdown
In-state commits: 8 — Williams, Matthews, Troxell, Moultry, Britt, Askew, Peters, Taylor.
Out-of-state commits: 7 — Bishop, Barrett, Ashley, Wooten, Gonzalez, Carlson, Brahms.
Other states represented: Florida (Ashley, Barrett, Brahms), Georgia (Bishop, Wooten, Gonzalez) and Colorado (Carlson).

KN has a recruiting insider up. Here's summary
- AU likes their chances much more with 4* S C.J. Avery than 4* Devon Hunter. McGriff was at his game last night & will be at Hunter's tonight. Avery is a mid year enrollee. Right now Avery looks like the much better bet to join the class
- Maryland is still a player for Ashley but their confidence is starting to falter because AU keeps winning. Ashley continues to say he's 100% committed.
- Chances are very high AU is going to offer 3* WR Noah Igbinoghene & they like their chances of getting a commit. Dude is super fast. Notre Dame is the current favorite
- Not much to update on for JUCO guys 4* DE Isaiah Buggs & 4* WR Brandon Martin. Both plan to take officials after their season ends. AU still favorite for Martin while LSU still favorite for Buggs. Future of Coach O will play big role with Buggs
- AU wants to take 1 more LB. The top 2 targets are 4* Tyler Taylor & 3* Monty Rice. Rice is considered UGA lean right now but KN thinks we are about to turn the heat up on him. 4* Nate McBride is a big time UGA lean but wants to officially visit AU
- Tigers feel good about 4* DE Ryan Johnson but things look really bleak for 4* DE LaBryan Ray. AU offered JUCO 3* DE Markel Winters this week who is committed to Ole Miss. AU thinks they will get official visit
- Things still look good for 3* OG Jordan Agasiva but AU is still evaluating all options. Recent Vol commit 3* OT Jordan Tucker is visiting this weekend & Garner really liked him in the spring so Hand now taking closer look

Bama guy on SEC Country had this to say about Moultry
quote:
Do you see us signing one of Jacob Phillips, Will Ignont or Tadarian Moultry?
From (@DanyWithOneN)
We reported this week that Alabama has been in contact with Auburn commit Tadarian Moultry as of late. Moultry said the Tide staff hasn’t been communicating much with him, but the interest from Alabama is legit.
Moultry looked like he was going to commit to Alabama this summer, but the Tide wanted to see how he performed his senior season before accepting a commitment. He ended up committing to Auburn and hasn’t looked back on that decision. He’s actually done lots of recruiting for the Tigers and helped them land 4-star linebacker KJ Britt this past Monday.
With that being said, I don’t see Moultry in Alabama’s class at this time. I think he’s happy with his Auburn commitment.
