Rocker was overrated. Tired of people praising his existence. He coached a talented group of lineman that he didn't recruit and cashed in on it after they all graduated. I'm not saying he was great or terrible because there's no way to really know during the short two year window he was here.
You can't be serious.
Fairley became the college game's most dominant lineman under him, and Clayton and Blanc -- two guys who I had barely heard of until 2010 -- became more than serviceable. Did Rocker have everything to do with their success? Probably not. But you can't convince me he didn't play a MASSIVE part in it. Our DTs were very active with their hands and actually shed blockers under Rocker, especially in 2010. I never saw any of this last year in Pelton's first year, and I didn't see it Sat. night.
This is Pelton's second year now. The guys should know what he expects, what he's coaching and how to execute it. Everything the DTs do is a direct reflection of the coaching they're getting. Rocker's DTs were very good in Year 2. Pelton's DTs? That's to be determined. But the improvement needs to come this year, especially with the depth we have at the position now.

Of course I'm serious. Not sure if you read my post or not but all I said is that he was overrated and that there is no way one could substantiate claims that he's a god based on the window he coached in. In particular, because he inherited an extremely well coached, older group of role players.
He would have struggled to get this group to where his 2009 and 2010 line were. But we'll never know because he was smart enough to cash in on his success before it got tougher.

and people tend to forget that when chizik put his staff together in early 2009, rocker was looked at as the token 'auburn guy'... he'd done a decent job at arkansas and ole miss, but was nothing special...
actually, if you look at rocker's career, the only really 'great' season his players have had was 2010... If you asked Arky fans, OM fans, or Titans fans their opinions on TR, you'd get a 'meh'.

Regardless of what Rocker may or may not have done. Pelton has also done little to earn praise in my opinion. I certainly was not impressed last year, but some have said it was Roof's scheme. I am hopeful the DT's show something more going forward.

Wow. Rocky being a nega-tiger.

Looks like Utah State's RB that slashed us is gonna be starting for the Seahawks with Lynch out. Still can't believe that game.

I have shared my doubts about Pelton since last year. I can no longer remember what he said in an interview that made me feel this way, but it definitely had a negative effect on me. I only know he has done little to remove my doubt. Give me some credit I am open to his success and did not ask for his firing...

Nah, go ask one of your brethren in a different thread.

StatTiger just released some statistics about Keihl's passing from the game indicating that he believes Kiehl is poised to be a downfield passing threat.
Did he watch the game or just look at the stat sheet because his conclusion is way off from mine

Frazier's field awareness was a bit iffy, and he was slinging a few balls high due to being nervous as hell. But his passes other than that were fairly solid, and his deep balls were excellent for the most part other than the one underthrown to Coates (not counting the int really, as he was just slinging it and not caring if it was picked). Frazier's biggest issues were on short and intermediate routes rather than deep passes. He was either slinging it too hard or too soft on the short stuff.
It's amusing to me that people are acting like Frazier should be playing like a redshirt junior with a full season of starts under his belt when he was a true soph making his first start ever against a top 15 team at a neutral site. He's going to have growing pains like every other young QB pretty much ever.
I may not agree with Stat on everything he's ever posted, but he knows his stuff better than 90% of the people in this thread, that's for damn sure.

That was his first year here.
And one of the worst defensive lines in Auburn history. Auburn have up 25 rushing TDs that year.... almost 14 ppg just by rushing. That is atrocious.

I think Pelton deserves criticism for last year, the whole staff does. However, I think it's unfair to start on him this year. We just faced a pretty good offense. When State takes us to the shed, then we can talk some more

I'm interested to hear how Jeremy Johnson has looked so far his senior season. Any word?

In his first (and only so far) game this season:
21/29 for 384yds, 4TDs 2INTs
9 carries for 94yds, 1TD
His backup went in sometime in the 4th quarter from what I read.
