I have mad respect for this kid.

Wow, just wow.

I really do wish he would've been able to spend time with his mother before she passed, though. I wish she could've seen him play in his last game. She was mentioned and everything...

Dang...

I am glad the NCAA didn't give him a hard time about transferring, so he could be around her instead of being stuck in IL.

Jay Prosch was one of the standouts of the game Saturday. The commentators said several times that what he was doing would not show up in the stats but that he Definently made a difference.

The fact that he played that way knowing his terminally ill mom was in a Coma makes me glad he choose to come to Auburn.

That's unreal that he played in that game on Saturday knowing this. Absolutely unreal.

He was the MVP of the game IMO. Our OL helped out the running game but if you go back and watch the plays that were really successful he was involved in a key block in some way or another.

Not only played but blocked like a machine. Major respect for Jay Prosch.

Unfortunately, that is a position that takes a while to develop, IMO.

Not it doesn't. Our coaching is sub-par.

Rocker came in here and turned our defensive front into one of the league's best in 2 years. Whitaker and Carter are in their third years, and they haven't done anything. It's too early to tell about Blackson and Wright, but if the coaching doesn't improve, I don't have too high of hopes for them.

Pelton just isn't getting the job done. Simple as that. And if our DTs suck again all season, it may be time to look somewhere else in the offseason.

No reason for our third-year DTs to constantly underperform like this.

I think losing him after 2010 was almost as bad as losing Cam and Nick. Dude was a very good coach.

Absolutely, and it has showed. Whitaker, Carter, Wright and Blackson were very young last year, so they were expected to take their lumps. But getting manhandled shouldn't happen this year, especially for Whitaker and Carter. I'm definitely willing to give Pelton all season before making a final judgment, but these DTs have GOT to improve by the middle-end of the season. Nowhere else to look but coaching if it doesn't happen.

some of you guys have ridiculously short memories.... people were screaming for Rocker's head after the 2009 arkansas game when our DL looked like complete dogshit.... or, as one somewhat respected poster on another board put it, the worst display by an auburn defensive line in his 30 years of watching us play.

And it's not like Rocker's tearing it up in the league... the Titan's defensive line is nothing short of mediocre.

If the defensive line play doesn't improve inside, I guess Pelton might find his way out early. I have no clue who could replace him. But I agree with everyone saying Rocker was a huge loss.

Anyways, I'm out for the night. Got a little road trip in the morning so I have to be up early for that.

That was his first year here. By Year 2, Fairley, Clayton and Blanc were average-above average SEC players. Not to mention we had ZERO depth that year.

Like I said, I'm willing to give Pelton the entire year. He deserves it, and it would be unfair to judge him off one game into his second year. But our DTs need to show some significant progress by midseason and be solid SEC players by year's end. Our DTs just seem to come off the ball and stick to the blocker for the entire play. No use of hands, no swim moves, nothing. Their inability to shed blockers is a glaring problem right now along with the lack of push to collapse the pocket.

The only difference I see between Rocker's DL and Pelton's DL is the fact that Fairley was a beast for Rocker. Pelton's DE look better this year (through 1 game) than Rocker's ever did.

I remember this as well. And I'm not about to claim I have any idea how to fix our defensive problems. I just know the level of physicality is going to have to increase A LOT or it's going to be a long freaking year.

Rocker was overrated. Tired of people praising his existence. He coached a talented group of lineman that he didn't recruit and cashed in on it after they all graduated. I'm not saying he was great or terrible because there's no way to really know during the short two year window he was here.

Get a grip

Then what about Rocker's teaching of whitaker and carter?.... i just think there's a WHOLE LOTTA revisionist history when thinking about Rocker's coaching.
