This is what I am considering. I'm tired of trying to play by the rules with these various streaming services only to get shat upon with price increases, sudden channel drops without warning, shitty interfaces, etc.
I'd pay for MLB.tv just to watch the Braves but they still abide by the insane local blackout rules so that isn't an option, either.
frick 'em all.

Is vpn a viable option for mlb tv?
Posted on 3/2/20 at 7:57 am to VinegarStrokes
Yes. When I have been overseas for work I have used NordVPN where you can select what country your IP address is from. In the US, you can select a server from a specific city so as long as you pick one that is outside of the Braves exclusive TV area then it should work.

Chipper is going to work with Boog Sciambi on Wednesday Night Baseball. I know what I’ll be doing on Wednesday off days (which there aren’t many of, admittedly)

Martin Prado was a guest instructor at camp today. I wouldn't be opposed to firing Snit today and making Prado the manager. I think he would be fantastic at it.

I just realized that the Braves open on the west coast and the games immediately start out at 10PM eastern time (other than the Saturday and Sunday games). I've made it a sort of tradition to take a half day or whole day off on Opening Day and either go to the game that afternoon if at home or watch from home with some drinks and good food if on the road. The games has almost always been day games. I feel like it takes away from the mystique of opening day to have it come on so late at night.

AAA-J Minter will start the season as a Striper

The #Braves today optioned LHP A.J. Minter and RHP Chad Sobotka to Triple-A Gwinnett. The club now has 52 players on the spring training roster.

Both will either get DFA'd or traded before this season is over.

wouldn't surprise me. i don't remember having such a stacked 40 man roster like they currently have. there is just no room for dead weight anymore, so if these guys can't pull their heads from their assholes, then they gotta go.

Sobotka just never really shows anything good when he is at the MLB level. In 2018 he had three appearances near or above 1.0 in aLI and pitched a grand total of 2 2/3rd innings in those appearances, earning a win and a hold. 2019 was horrible for him by every quantifiable metric and just didn't look good in my eye test in the appearances I remember him in.
As a lefty with supposed closer potential, Minter could be a good trade piece later on in the season if he puts up good numbers in AAA.

Grant Dayton will be DFA'd before spring training is over.

Saw this in the comments section of TC:
Dayton is owed 1.5M if he is released in spring training. If he makes the team he is owed 6.25M.

yeah...seems like a no brainer. cut his arse.
EDIT: Spotrac disagrees with the info provided on Talking Chop. It says that Dayton signed a $655k deal to avoid arbitration this year. He still has 2 more years of arbitration left. I'm not sure where they got those numbers you quoted.
EDIT2: Shane Greene is signed for $6.25 million. Maybe they were talking about him?

No clue, I didn't verify the info so I sourced it to them.
Does Sportrac show if Dayton has any options left? Comments of same post on TC said he was out of options, so now I doubt the source.

yeah, Dayton has 1 option year left.
EDIT: actually, I don't think he has any options left. COTS says he has 0, Spotrac says he has 1, but I'm not sure if that just means that Spotrac hasn't updated that yet or not.

Just going to throw this out there - This team won't win 90 games. Donaldson's impact will be felt early and often. I know we made him an offer but losing him hurt and our replacement pitchers in Hamels and Felix - just don't see that as a big enough upgrade to offset what we will miss on offense.

Probably not, now that 20-30 games wont be played.

Don't have a 90 win roster and the ownership isn't changing but yeah that doesn't help.
