So we spent all spring hearing that Bryce Stephens was the next great receiver and he didn’t even crack the two deep. I hope that means we truly did hit on all those transfers.

I’ve never been one of those “saving the offense” guys, but conversely, I’m also wondering if this is an attempt to give some of the freshmen and underclassmen some early game action.

I’m not surprised by Jaheim Thomas getting a look (he tore it up at Cincy last year), but I am surprised to see Paul an “OR” while Crook is a slotted starter.

Some of the two deep is surprising, but some of it could simply be early season roster tinkering against an FCS opponent.

ETA - Pittman did say in his presser today that Paul was a bit banged up which is why he’s listed as an OR.

Is Hasz that good or are we that bad at TE? Gumms is 3rd I guess?

O Line looks pretty huge from a size perspective. Hopefully helps run blocking. Interesting to see Chamblee at or at LT

I’ve heard good things about Hasz. But I guess we won’t know for a bit. I rewatched the 2015(4th and 25) Ole Miss game and our TEs were crucial and played a huge part of the success in sustaining drives. So, I guess I’m saying it feels good hearing Enos and his guys saying that.

Seems everyone who watches practices says Hasz is legit. TE is just such a hard position for freshmen in the SEC to play well consistently at though so hopefully Gumms steps up as he gets more practice reps.

Gumms just hasn’t had as much time to learn the offense. And Sherman is our best blocker apparently so he’s 2nd.

Most surprised by Washington, needs to contribute this year or he probably won’t be here long.

Pittman shed a bit of light on the 2 deep in his presser yesterday.

T - they really like Devon Manuel at tackle, but he's been banged up all camp and Chamblee has been good in his reps.

TE - Pittman made it sound like 4 of the 5 TEs listed on the depth chart will play (sounded a bit like Ty Washington may be the odd man out). Sherman is a good blocker, Hasz is the best of the group at doing everything well.

DL - they have 8ish starting caliber linemen, which gives them flexibility in packages and rotations.

LB - Paul would be the starter but he's banged up. He'll still play. Thomas is really good. In 2 linebacker sets we'll see a lot of Thomas and Paul.

DB - Clark has played a lot of ball but Jayden Johnson has been good in practice. The Georgia transfer is legit. We're much faster in the secondary than we were last year.

On integrating portal guys - been focusing more on scheme and cultural fit, and they have to have tape. Have to make the portal guys earn their spot, and he fricked with Haselwood last year running him with the 1's immediately without making him earn his spot.
