Justin Duft, 19, had been hospitalized in critical condition since Dec. 26, when he was run over in a fight with Nathan Schneider in the 1300 block of Chenal Parkway, according to police.
Duft was reportedly punching Schneider as Schneider sat in a Hyundai Santa Fe. Witnesses said Schneider put the sport utility vehicle in reverse and backed over Duft. Schneider then put the vehicle into drive, ran over Duft again and drove away, according to a police report.
Duft had been on life support at Baptist Health Medical Center-Little Rock before his death.
Schneider surrendered to police Tuesday on a charge of first-degree battery. He pleaded not guilty Wednesday morning in Little Rock District Court. Judge Hugh Finkelstein set bond at $500,000.
