Who are we thinking starts Friday?

Perhaps wishful thinking on my part but this is what I’d do -

Start Tygart on Friday with obviously a very short leash. Gage starts the game in the bullpen and is ready to go at a moment’s notice. Then we go Hagen game 2 of course. Then for Game 3, we use Gage if we didn’t have to use him Game 1. Or if we did have to use him, then go with Molina.

All of this assumes we didn’t have to use Molina in relief somewhere along the way.

It would really really help if the offense just put up some big crooked #s early on Friday and let us save some of the pitching depth.

I think we’re in for some dogfights considering our offense’s penchant for playing up or down (mostly down) to the level of pitching we face.

I lost count of the number of times an opponent would trot out an underclassman with a 5.0+ ERA and our lineup would make him look like prime Greg Maddux.

I'm impressed you found video of it at all. 2004 was the season that caught my attention but it was exclusively through radio for pretty much everything outside of Omaha.

Obviously I prefer getting to watch everything, but thinking back getting super excited about going far enough into the season to actually get to watch them play on TV added another level to everything.

We couldn’t even get the games on radio where I live and I just lucked upon the game on the way home. The only way I could get information was newspapers and sportscasts at night.

I could still barely get the station when I got home and I positioned my truck just right in the back yard enough to get a staticky signal and iced down some beer and listened to the second game the best I could. It was a good evening.

Getting to watch every game is great now, I try not to complain about announcers and such as long as I can watch it. I’m grateful.

I think we've seen the last meaningful baseball from Tygart. He’s a low pressure late reliever in a blowout at best at this point.

If that’s the case our ceiling is pretty low. Need Tygart and Diggs to step up to have a real shot at winning it all.

Stats in a bad conference don't impress. K State could easily win that game.

Tech is just 12-10 on the road with an 88 SOS and 87 nonconf SOS. 3-6 vs RPI top 25.

They got crushed 17-10 by DBU in the final after losing to Liberty 6-2. Two weeks before that they lost 2 of 3 at New Mexico State a 25-29 team losing 16-5 and 12-6.

Time for a stat check now that the entire regular season + SECT is behind us. Gonna give some full year stats. Will try later and get some stats from the “last 10” or “last 20” games or how many ever we think is a good idea but it’ll take some work because I’ll have to go 1 game at a time.

(# of ABs) Slash Lines + OPS:
Aloy - (223) .269/.359/.480/.839
Diggs - (194) .227/.341/.387/.728
McLaughlin (189) - .302/.452/.466/.918
Stovall (186) - .349/.413/.559/.972
Sprague-Lott (156) .295/.431/.494/.925
White - (146) .288/.390/.479/.869
Holt (139) - .309/.409/.468/.877
Souza - (109) .257/.369/.514/.883
Wilmsmeyer - (107) .196/.295/.234/.529
Edmunson - (87) .241/.362/.333/.695
Lovich - (82) .280/.406/.427/.833
Helfrick - (79) .190/.330/.342/.672
Jones - (72) .194/.301/.403/.704
Wagner - (45) .267/.357/.511/.868
Rowland - (28) .214/.395/.286/.681

IP - ERA - Batting Average Allowed:
Smith - 79.0 - 1.48 - .139
Tygart - 59.1 - 3.94 - .220
Molina - 55.2 - 4.04 - .192

Also am I crazy or was Dossett’s injury not season ending? Maybe I’m making that up. I can’t find anything that says we are shutting him down.

Stats since the beginning of the Florida series. These are at bats so they do not include sacrifices, walks, HBPs, etc. -

White - 18/47 for .383
Stovall - 27/71 for .380
McLaughlin - 15/49 for .306
Sprague-Lott - 17/62 for .274
Lovich - 4/15 for .267
Holt - 15/58 for .259
Helfrick - 8/32 for .250
Rowland - 2/8 for .250
Aloy - 15/70 for .214
Wagner - 1/6 for .167
Wilmsmeyer - 3/18 for .167
Jones - 3/19 for .158
Souza - 3/21 for .143
Edmunson - 2/16 for .125
Diggs - 6/49 for .122

Just telling us what we already know…. But Diggs hitting .122 on so many at bats is absolutely killing us.
