1959 Bama vs Memphis State
Bama won 17-7
Former player from my high school Tommy White kicked one 81 yards out of the endzone. I think he has the 5th longest punt in Bama lore.
I was 9
seems like yesterday.

Haha. Can't remember my first game. It was in the early '60s. One of the games at Legion Field.

1989 homecoming. Was a senior in HS but was invited as an incoming student for the next year. The one where there was a black homecoming queen that got booed. Remember walking out of the portal seeing the west upper deck (it was the only one) and was blown away by the scale of it all. Played Southwest Louisiana and only won by 7 (I had to look this up).
Bill Curry's last year. I ended up going to the Sugar bowl that same year, where we lost to Miami. Keith McCants was the big star. But Gary Hollingsworth had a great year. We came back from 21 down at Ole Miss that year as I recall. Homer Smith was a good OC at the time.

I went to some games before, but the first one I remember was the Southern Miss game in '93. We beat the dogshit out of them, despite it showing up as an L in the record books.

Dad and granddad both were Auburn grads so I was "raised" an AU fan (didn't care for sports) so I went to some a couple of Iron Bowls down there in the 1990s. Eventually switched to the good side and actually started enjoying sports so my first athletic event was my senior year of high school a couple of friends and I drove down to watch Alabama defeat Florida in Coleman for what would end up being UF's final loss of the year for their title team in 2006. First football game was vs Hawaii as a freshman a few months later as a member of the MDB.

November 16, 1963 - Ga. Tech at Bama in Legion Field. Bama won 27 - 11.
That morning at breakfast my Dad asked nine-year-old me if I wanted to go to the Alabama football game. I had never really watched a football game and wasn't aware of what it was all about but said yes. Life changing afternoon. Dad bought a couple of student tickets for $10 at the stadium - and he wasn't happy to pay that much. Could see The Bear before and during the game from a distance. The crowd was into the game and I was hooked.
Over the years, we attended quite a few Bama games and I am forever grateful he introduced me to the experience - my sons and I have shared the thrill of victory and agony of defeat of Bama football.
The last game I attended with Dad was the Jan 2, 2009 game vs Utah in New Orleans - Bama lost 31 - 17. My sons - his grandsons - were there too. Dad had a heart attack after the game and died the next day - I guess that's as good of an exit as a man can expect - RTR Dad.

I believe it was the Alabama - Auburn basketball game in 1985 in Tuscaloosa.

First one I have a memory of is 1973. Bama beat Virginia Tech 77-6 in Tuscaloosa. Four Bama players rushed for over 100 yards each. I can still remember the score on the old light bulb score board as we left Denny Stadium.
