Well my suggestion and it may be totally off the mark would be for Kira to shoot less and facilitate more. The shot is not falling consistently so quit forcing it. Just pass to the open man more. If Kira is the open man then by all means, take your shot. But I think shooting less is the way to go for now. I still think fatigue is a big factor in this discussion. I’d love to see some advanced metrics on whether this is a recent phenomenon or has it been going on all year? Does it get worse late in games or is it pretty consistent throughout.

I think he's struggling with the shoot/pass decision in the offense, especially on the dribble drive. Almost all of his issues are bad decisions on dribble drives, mainly forces at the rim.

Have to just hope it clicks soon for him.

I think Kira would be much more comfortable playing off the ball in this system. He can get to the basket, can score around the basket, and has a decent enough outside shot. What he struggles with is floor vision and anticipation. If the lead guard in a motion offense struggles with seeing the full court and anticipating when and where his teammates will come open you're going to get a frick ton of turnovers. Then when Kira starts to press he reverts back to what he knows, which is iso scoring. The problem with that is that this offense is not designed for iso scoring. It's designed to create open lanes and unguarded spot up shooters through the motion of other players on the floor.

Yeah it would have. At the very least it would have given Kira more rest and maybe more of an opportunity to see how things evolve on certain sets from the standpoint of a guy without the ball in his hands. I find it appalling that Quinten Grimes got a waiver by pulling that rope-a-dope bullshite with Kansas and JQ is sitting out this year.

This.

Jelly running point, Kira at the 2, Petty at the 3 is what I would absolutely love to see next year assuming Kira comes back and Petty doesn’t get a great draft grade.

Another team that likes to play slow. IMO the key is going to be if yall can defensive rebound well. Miss St. is a beast on the offensive boards. They are going to turn it over a ton playing at Bama's pace though.

I think State matches up horribly with us. They should be able to bang on us, but they don't have any idea how to do that efficiently. They are awful offensively.

If we play like we have the last month, including the Florida debacle, we should win.

So I'm sure we won't

I agree, in some ways they are just a worse version of Florida. They play slow but still turn it over a ton. I expect Bama to speed them up and the turnovers will flow. In turn I think they are not going to get up as many shots as they want and that is going to limit their offensive rebounding opportunities.

Perry should have success on the offensive end if they are slowing down the ball and getting him good touches but I see them trying to run with Bama. Adu really isn't much a threat on the offensive end and you can neutralize his defensive ability to a certain degree in fast breaks. The thing that gets concerning for Bama imo is if they get Bama to play more at their pace. Limiting 2nd chance points might be the most important aspect for Bama in the game.

Yeah they basically a poor man’s Florida. If we play like we have been, we should be all right.

It’s early yet but something many of you may not have factored in to our expectations (I know I didn’t): college basketball is a fricking train wreck this year. Nobody can hold the top spot for more than a couple of weeks, EVERYBODY seems to have at least one WTF loss, and even the traditional powers seem very Meh! so far. When Auburn is the top SEC team and UK isn’t even a consideration, the state of the sport is crazy. All this to say, 18-13 might get you into the Dance in a crazy year like this. We just need to take care of business and win our games.
