Flip that around for me. Grant Nelson is priority #1!

Nelson and Kaluma by alot. We have three spots and should not blink at going full bore after both. Maybe hold on then until we see where reclassification is for Stevenson and Sherrill. In an On 3 interview, Sherrill said he was 50/50 on reclassifying in December. Guess he needs more credits. Don't know where Stevenson is on credits.

Got some bad news tonight. Nelson is taking two visits to Alabama and Baylor and doesn’t currently plan to visit Iowa. We are still trying to change that, but I’m no longer as optimistic as before.

Kinda figured it'd come down to us and Baylor. Hopefully we get him. Would really take the sting out of losing Chuck. I still don't know what he was thinking unless he just hates school so much he couldn't do another year.

Maybe the same person advising Primo on what shorts to wear was advising Chuck on his draft decision?

Canadians not being able to get NIL was a huge factor. But That’s why Oats scheduled the Toronto game so Chuck could get some while we were over there

So we basically can't recruit Canadians anymore? Sounds like the NCAA to me.

It's anyone playing that has a student visa. I think you'd have to change a federal law to allow it. Another example of people not thinking things through before implementing nil.

I’ve worked in Canada twice on a work visa. They’re pretty strict on what you can and can’t do. Student visa is probably the same to some degree I suspect

How do you know canadians cant get NIl?
Posted on 6/3/23 at 1:52 pm to CrimsonFever
I hadnt thought about that but I think your right. Apparently Edey is getting NIl from places in Canada cause he cant in the US.

Junior center Zach Edey can’t profit off his name, image and likeness in the United States because of his visa restrictions. The Boilermaker Alliance, a Purdue NIL collective, helped the Toronto native find a way to do so in his home country instead. Edey partnered with three Canadian charitable organizations: Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami, the Toronto Humane Society and the Canadian Chinese Youth Athletic Association.

Aaron Estrada is the real deal. Walters moves well but still needs to put on some weight. Cosby is a sneaky good rebounder. Dioubte looks strong defensively. Wrightsell has his hand wrapped and isn't participating. We also definitely need some bigs.

2023 4* Chris Johnson will be reopening his recruitment.
Johnson is a two-way guard who plays with great pace and burst with the ball in his hands. A good scorer and facilitator.
He originally chose the Jayhawks over Arkansas, Ole Miss and Alabama. #43 in the ESPN100.

I cant believe we scheduled a game vs Purdue in Toronto, an hour where Bediako is from just for him to turn around and be like

If it comes down to us or Baylor for Nelson I like our chances. They already have Jalen Bridges who might return to school plus Oliver whats his name from Tennessee is visiting there this weekend.
Hopefully Nelson commits to us on his visit.

Update:
Texas, Texas A&M, Alabama, Memphis, Ole Miss, Miami, Oklahoma and Illinois have reached out so far on Chris Johnson

Saw the Grant Nelson discussion, so I reached out to some sources, who tell me he's not on campus but is expected to be in Tuscaloosa on Thursday for his official visit. Nelson, the 6-11, 235-pound big man transfer from North Dakota State, is about to hit an official visit run that includes Bama, Baylor and Arkansas (and possibly more) before making his final decision. Oats and staff have made him a top priority and will roll out the red carpet for his official. Right now, I think UA is in solid shape, but this will be a hotly-contested recruitment with the visits telling the tale. Staff knows they have a battle on their hands, but they do have playing time to offer and a scheme fit that should benefit Nelson.
We will keep you posted as we learn more
Tim Watts.
Don’t like Arkansas being involved gotta figure if they get a visit they are the favorites because of $$$

Arkansas is already pretty loaded in their front court with Trevon Brazile and Jalen Graham at the 4 and Makhi Mitchell at the 5, all returning from last year. Plus they have freshman center Baye Fall coming in. I would be surprised if Nelson ends up there.
