Looks like i'll be thrilled with either of them. I'd prefer Cliff if they are going to cost roughly the same, but i'm not paying double what Onyenso will cost. Nate is a math guy so he knows how to gauge best value - we can trust that he's going to make the best decision for the program on these things.

Oyenso would basically be another Chuck IMO.

I think any rim protector we'll take will be another Chuck. Most of their offense is going to be put backs or pick and rolls.

I haven't been paying a ton of attention to this one, but this caught me by surprise a bit.

Off topic but Donnie Freeman finishes at the #6 recruit. Oats and Hodgson were on him before his meteoric rise. And he would have been ours if Hodgson didn’t leave. Oats can identify talent

He was apparently asking for a massive bag. So massive that even Memphis balked at it.

Guessing Hurley is a little desperate and was willing to put all his $ in the basket there.

Onyenso was the only player in the country to average > 12% block rate (14.4%) and average less than 5 fouls per 40 minutes (3.3) in the country last year vs Top 100 teams. He was arguably the best rim protecting big in America last year, though in slightly lesser minutes (49%) than others.

Where Cliff is head and shoulders better than him is on the defensive glass, which speaks to the difference in an inexperienced guy and a big veteran. Onyenso wasn't bad on the defensive glass, but wasn't elite. Cliff is elite.

This has to have something to do with it.

Lame. Was hoping that maybe he'd follow Hurley when he is fired and joins our staff next offseason, but sounds like the only thing he follows is the Way of The Bag.

Baylor coach Scott Drew now has a pair of openings on his staff, and Link Academy’s Bill Armstrong - former LSU associate head coach - is expected to fill one of them, source told @TheFieldOf68. Should be official by end of the week.

Notable.

Thats a damn good thing. Link academy has a lot of great recruits, and I'm sure Armstrong hates Oats.
