Haynes should have played more in the Rose Bowl and the offense should have focused on using him. He is easily Alabama's best RB. Saban knows this, which is why he played him relatively early as he realized Alabama was in a dogfight, so he needed his best weapons. Then when it looked like Alabama had gained control of the game, he resorted to his "old reliables", so no more Haynes. Unless there was an injury. Haynes is just a big-time runner and player.

At one point Haynes was going for almost 10YPC even with no functional downfield passing game and all the other issues we’ve documented.

Who made the call to insert 22?
Who made the call to remove 22?
Made no sense. 22 and 26 are light years better than 5 and 2.

You need to read the message boards from Ole Miss. Bama does not need Judkins. There is more to football chemistry than NIL.

I've been saying this constantly... and it's ironic that message is being preached on Ole Miss' board. Their approach to the portal is not the best way to breed team chemistry imo

He was our worst LB this year... I'm not sure I understand the rationale behind this decision. I will say this - I'm not sad. He busted almost every coverage he was responsible for this year.

Here is a complete breakdown of our roster in 2024 so far. I don’t have Ryan Williams or QB Reese because they have not signed officially. I think Ryan will be in this class but just being careful not to jinx it really. When and if they sign I’ll edit. I don’t have Burton, Marshall or Jase on here because I’m assuming they leave. If anything changes I can update as we go along.

Anyone know how the russaw kid looked in practice this year? He got a possibility of starting?
Posted on 1/5/24 at 10:12 am to EGO3x
RB - STACKED
WR - Talented, but no standout (ala Jones, Cooper, Smith).
TE - Solid
OL - Need some young talent to step-up (or portal)
DL - Solid
MLB - Solid
OLB - Young, but ridiculously talented
CB - Thin, need some young talent to step-up (or portal)
DB - Solid, could see Hampton/Kirkpatrick Jr. playing CB
Kicking game - Solid, with excellent punting
Hampton could play WR too. With Hampton/Williams (if he signs) added to the WR room, I like the talent of that group. Give me Bussey too (I know it's a dream )

Its so frustrating thinking about how effectively 22, 2, and 26(with his 1 carry for 11 yards) were running on them and how we kept going shotgun for Milroe to drop back for a pass, or throw quick outs on the perimeter which Michigan was eating up all game.

Assuming that the recruiting experts are correct, Alabama will land commitments from Hill and Mincey tomorrow. I’m very interested to see where Hill fits in.

I’m excited to see Caleb Odom get some passes. He’s a bit on the lean side right now but he is so talented.

Curious to see where Jeremiah Alexander fits next year. He cross trained with the ILBs about mid-way through the year this past year. With all the experience we’re losing on the edge, I wonder if he slides back outside or if they keep him primarily inside.

With Trezmen Marshall leaving for the NFL, I could see Alexander getting plenty of reps at ILB with Lawson and Campbell... but who knows. We have a crazy amount of young talent at EDGE. How they develop may determine where Alexander plays next season.

No one watching objectively can claim that an injured Jase McClellan is equal to or better than Justice Haynes.
Bama was sub 5YPC for the first time since 2007 for our lead back this year and it wasn't all OL.
If Haynes was hurt, had a bad attitude or wasnt pass protecting in practice fair enough, but we went from average/below average at RB to elite the moment he went in the game.

None of our LBs were functional for large parts of the UM game.
Watch the first half and track how often Campbell and Lawson are running around with no idea what to do. They had us tied in knots for whatever reason with their rushing attack and it led to mass chaos in our short pass coverage. It was Auburn all over again.

Our entire back seven was confused by the motion and eye candy. This has given us problems under Saban before with Freeze and Malzahn. Our coaches need to get it figured out and soon.
