Not being able to get Drake Maye in 2023 really set us back.

Drake Maye decommiting in 2021 is the reason we ended up with Milroe in the first place.

The fact Kalen didn't meet him at the hash speaks volumes. Is the HC afraid of his pathetic QB?

No I dont think so. I just think is a calculating, non-rash, stoic guy. We saw him get as fired up for the BS penalty as weve ever seen him but for the most part, hes gonna stay even keeled.

Its easy for me to say id have chewed him out and benched him. I dont go to practice, dont deal with the behind the scenes stuff. CKD does. I think he is not only a good coach but a wise man so im gonna roll with his decisions

Both sets of offensive coaches (and 2 head coaches) clearly thought that in totality he was the better option for the 12 game season than Simpson. Feels like an indictment of Simpson, but who knows what the total story is.

The story's likely the one with the most simple explanation. Benching Milroe would be a potential soap opera - season killer if the other guy doesn't play well and loses. Both sets of coaches in both seasons felt like Simpson wasn't going to beat teams like Georgia et al -- and would make it a bit of a rebuilding season -- but Milroe potentially could.

Our QB room is full of bums.

Simpson, Lonergan and Mack are all more talented QBs than miLroe

We are going to look back at this and say "how the frick was miLroe the starting QB in '23 and '24"

I think you're mostly right. But, Simpson being a RS freshman last year probably had a lot to do with him not starting. And, then Deboer walked into a situation where we were losing players to the portal and we had a returning starter at QB. He probably thought keeping what continuity he had was in their best interest. I think he was wrong, but I think that was a deciding factor.

Yeah, that Milroe was obviously instrumental in keeping a lot of guys from transferring so it would have been even more of a soap opera to bench him and then have Simpson look like a deer in headlights against Georgia etc. . . especially if everyone is watching Milroe outperform Simpson in practice.

Deboer sure didn't walk into the easiest situation in that regard.

Getting the backup QB snaps with the 1st team should be a major objective each season. You have to see what a player can do with the best and not the 2nd bunch. Coach Bryant sent the 2nd team QB in the 2nd qtr no matter what the score was or who Bama was playing.

You can't wait until the last 3 minutes and insert into the game with the other backups and expect to get great feedback on what the guy can do when it matters.

The season is dead. Only thing left is beating Auburn. If Milroe comes out and stinks it up again DeBoer better put somebody else in or wildcat with the RBs.

Everyone talks about the South Florida game loafing. None of the players acted like they wanted to win the game, embarrassing. All that bs talk is talk. Coaches don’t change, make adjustments, try the same damn play like it’s LSU’s front seven. Do we even scout teams? Do we still have analysts breaking things down during the game?

Coaches are hardly ever coaching Milroe on the sideline. Only time they what to coach on the sideline is to get a good tictok video.

Milroe doesn't have a tablet. He has an Etch A Sketch.
